AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SO AS TO ALLOW EITHER THE
ALDERMEN TO CALL A SPECIAL
ORDINANCE NO. 96-16
SECTION 2.5 OF THE RIVERSIDE CITY CODE
MAYOR OR THREE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN.
Section 1. Section 1 of Section 2.5 of the Riverside City
Code is hereby repealed.
Section 2. A new Section 1 of Section 2.5 of the Riverside
City Code is hereby enacted to read as follows:
"Section 1. The regular meeting time for the Board of
Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, is hereby
designated as each Tuesday of each and every week at
7:30 o'clock p.m., at City Hall, Riverside, Missouri. The
Mayor or any three (3) Aldermen may call a special meeting
of the Board of Aldermen by submitting a written notice of
said meeting to the City Administrator at least twenty-four
(24) hours prior to the commencement of the proposed special
meeting excluding Saturdays and Sundays and legal holidays.
It shall be the duty of the City Administrator to post notice
of said meeting at a prominent place at City Hall and to
notify any members of the news media who have requested notice
of meetings of the Board of Aldermen no less than twenty-four
(24) hours prior to the commencement of said meeting. In the
event there is good cause such notice is impossible or
impractical, then the City Administrator shall give such
notice as reasonably possible and the nature of the good cause
justifying that departure from the normal requirements shall
be stated in the minutes."
Section 3. Section 2 of Section 2.5 of the Riverside City
Code is hereby repealed.
Section 4. A new Section 2 of Section 2.5 of the Riverside
City Code is hereby enacted to read as follows:
"Section 2. The regular meeting time for the Planning
Commission of the City of Riverside, Missouri, is hereby
designated as the second and fourth Thursdays of each and
every month at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Hall, Riverside,
Missouri. The Chairman may call a special meeting of the
Commission by submitting written notice of said meeting to the
City Administrator no less than twenty-four (24) hours prior
to the commencement of the proposed meeting excluding
Saturdays and Sundays. It shall be the duty of the City
Administrator to post notice of said meeting at a prominent
place at City Hall and to notify any members of the news media
who have requested notice of meetings of the Planning
Commission no less than twenty four (24) hours prior to the
commencement of said meeting."
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to make the
appropriate changes to the Riverside City Code of the City of
Riverside, Missouri.
