HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-101 - Increase in Allowable Signage Upon a Permitted Commercial Vessel Site72405 ~`2; 11/28/95 BILL NO . `~:~ ~~~ /~ O~2DTNANCE NO. i'5- /L' / AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHI2IG AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE THAT INCREASE THE ALLOWABLE SIGNAGE UPON A PERMITTED COMMERCIAL VESSEL SITE AND CORRECTING AN ERROR IN A PREVIOUS AMENDMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Riverside, Missouri, adopted a new Zoning Code on February 21, 1989, by ordinance No. 89-15, and WHEREAS, an amendment to that order establishing a special use permit for commercial vessels and adjacent facilities was adopted on July 6, 1993 by ordinance No. 93-32, and WfiEREAS, an application to further amend this ordinance has been made, the adoption of which, following public hearing, has been recommended by the Riverside Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside wishes to enact and enforce tae new amendments to the Zoning Code, and SE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY 0~' RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOws: Section 1. Section 13.130 (18) is hereby repealed in itg entirety. Section 2. A new Section 13.130 (18) shall be adopted to read as follows: 13.130 (18) Signs-Not withstanding any other provision of this Riverside Zoning Ordinance, on-site outdoor advertising shall be allowed upon a permitted commercial vessel site subject to the following terms and conditions: a. No such site shall be permitted to maintain more than ten {10) on-site signs. b. duly two (z) on-site signs shall be permitted to exceed fifty five (55) feet above ground level. The top of no sign shall exceed ninety (90) feet above ground level. c. Each sign permitted by this ordinance must advertise only on-site businesses and their activities or those of the City of Riverside. 2 d. No sign may have more than throe (3) faces of copy. e. Review of the design may be required by engineers and/or architects at the applicant's expense. f. Electronic message display system shall be permitted subject to the limitations of subparagraphs c and g. g. Intermittent and flashing lights shall be permitted so long as no flashing light shall appear to be emitting from an emergency vehicles or cause interference with the proper, safe movement o~ vehicular traffic. h. Space between the faces of any sign structure shall not exceed seventy-five (75) feet. i. Of the ten (lo) signs permitted at each commercial vessel site by this ordinance, six (6) shall have no single face of copy exceeding two hundrec: (200) square feet, two (2) signs shall be allowed copy Paces not to exceed one thousand two hundred (1,200) feet and two (2) signs shall be allowed copy faces not to exceed three thousand five hundred (3,500) feet. However, no sign shall have a horizontal measurement in excess of one hundred (7.00) feet nor a vertical measurement of more than sixty (60) feet." Section 3. Section 13.130 (2) is hereby amended to read as follows: "commercial. vessels are only allowed within Tracts 8 and 9 of the M-2 17istrict (general industrial) (See Section 20.020 for boundaries)." Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to make the appropriate changes to the Zoning order of the City of Riverside, Missouri. PASSED THIS _St_h ~A1, 0~.
