RE: Assignment of Street Name for Argosy Casino Parkway
BACKGROUND: In 2007 the City and Argosy Casino/Penn National Gaming entered into an
agreement to design and construct two new roadways to improve access and
public safety for the Argosy Casino/Entertainment Disu of Riverside. A
component necessary for the completion of these projecu is the formal
designation of street names for the new roadways. An exhibit is attached for
your review.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of a City resolution naming new Argosy Casino
Parkway starting from the center of the I-635 & Horizons Parkway interchange
along the new road approximately 1.02 miles east, then north approximately
0.51 miles then east over existing Tullison Road approximately 0.32 miles then
north over existing Riverway Boulevard to the centerline of the mainline lanes of
Route 9. Adoption of a resolution is necessary for MoDOT approval, allowing
construction of the new highway signing for this route.
Following the completion of all construction activities, the roadway for Argosy
Casino Parkway will be formally surveyed and dedicated by the City for public
use as a roadway. If the Resolution is approved, the survey and dedication
documenu which will be presented for adoption by the Board of Aldermen will
utilize the name "Argosy Casino Parkway".
BUDGETARY IMPACT: The MoDOT signage for the new roadway will be covered within the Argosy
Casino/Penn National Gaming portions of funds identified for these projects.
