R-2010-082 A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IRRIGATION ON ARGOSY CASINO PARKWAY NOR7H PROJECT TO SIGNATURE IRRIGATtON, AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $159,165.54 FOR SUCH PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City selected Signature Irrigation and Simply Green Irrigation for to perform services related to the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems within the City; and WHEREAS, both companies were requested to submit proposals for construction of an irrigation system along Argosy Casino Parkway and the proposal submitted by Signature Irrigation in the amount of $159,165.54 has been evaluated and recommended as the most advantageous proposal for performance of the project; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to enter into a I contract with Signature Irrigation to perform such project; ' NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE ' CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: , THAT the proposal of Signature Irrigation for the installation of the irrigation system for ' � the Argosy Parkway North Project in the amount of $159,165.54 is hereby accepted and I approved; and FURTHER THAT an agreement by and beriveen the City of Riverside and Signature Irrigation in substantially the same form as attached hereto in Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference is hereby authorized and approved; and � FURTHER THAT the project is subject to the requirements of Section 292.675 RSMo, which requires all contractors or subcontractors doing work on the project to provide, and require its on-site employees to complete, a ten (10) hour course in construction safety and health approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations which is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. Such training must be completed within sixty � (60) days of the date work on the Pro�ect commences. On-site employees found on the ' worksite without documentation of the required training shall have twenty (20) days to produce such documentation; and i FURTHER THAT the City Administrator is hereby authorized to execute all documents �, and agreements necessary or incidental to carry out the terms and conditions of such bid award I and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. Z950 NW Vivion Road Riverside, Missouri 64150 MEMO DATE: November 12, 2010 '� AGENGA DATE: November 16, 2010 I TO: Mayor and Board of Aldermen FROM: Travis Hoover i RE: Contract for the Irrigation on Argosy Casino Parkway Nor BACKGROUND: Previously, staff presented an irrigation plan for Horizons Parkway and Argosy Casino Parkway. Signature Irrigation and Simply Green Irrigation was chosen to perform the installation. The original plan has Signature completing irrigation for Horizons during the winter months of 2010 and 201 I. With the completion of Argosy Casino Parkway during this time, Argosy has requested that we complete the irrigation for this project. We received bids from our irrigation contactors. Signature Irrigation $ I 59, I 65.54 Simply Green Irrigation $ I 58, I 59.00 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and acceptance of the contract with Signature Irrigation to begin work for the irrigation along Argosy Casino Parkway North. Signature is recommended because they have material on site as they were prepared to begin work for Horizons. This has an advantage with the quick timeline for the completion of the project. BUDGETARY IMPACT: The budget is not to exceed $159,165.54 and will be expended out of the irrigation budget for the construction under this contract.
