HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-59 - Addition of Section 21.007 to the Municipal CodeBILL NO. ~_~--7 y ORDINANCE N0. `~,~ ~r~ AN ORDINANCE ENACTING A NEW SECTION 21.007 OF THE RIVERSIDE CITY CODE REGARDING DISORDERLY CONDUCT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Anew Section 21.007 of the Riverside City Code is hereby enacted, which shall read as follows: "21.007 Disorderly Conduct Prohibited. A person shall be guilty of disorderly conduct if, they recklessly or knowingly cause danger, alarm, disorder or nuisance to another person, or by doing any of the following acts: (a) Commits an act in a violent or tumultuous manner toward another whereby another is placed in danger of life, limb or health; (b) Commits an act in a violent or tumultuous manner toward another whereby the property of another is placed in danger of being destroyed or damaged; (c) Causes, provokes or engages in any fight, brawl or riotous conduct so as to endanger the life, limb, health or property of another; (d) Interferes with another's pursuit of a lawful occupation by acts of violence; (e) Obstructs, either singly or together with other persons, the flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic and refuses to clear such public way when ordered to do so by the City Police or other lawful authority; (f) Is in a public place under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or drug in such condition as to be ~:nable to exeicise care for his own safety or the safety of others. (g) Resists or obstructs the performance of duties by City Police or any other authorized official of the City, when known to be such an official; (h) Incites, attempts to incite, or is involved in attempting to incite a riot; (i) Addresses abusive language or threats to any member of the City Police Department, any other authorized official of the City who is engaged in the lawful performance of his duties, or any other person when such words have a direct tendency to cause acts of violence. Words merely causing displeasure, annoyance or resentment are not prohibited. (j) Damages, befouls or disturbs public property or the property of another so as to create a hazardous, unhealthy or physically offensive condition; (k) Makes or causes to be made any loud, boisterous and unreasonable noise or disturbance which is likely to annoy any other persons nearby, or near to any public highway, road, street, lane, alley, park, square or common; (1) Fails to obey a lawful order to disperse by a police officer, when known to be such an official, where one or more persons are committing acts of disorderly conduct in the immediate vicinity; (m) Uses abusive or obscene gesture which is likely violent response from a (n) A person shall be guilty person knowingly allows upon any premises owned his control. language or makes an obscene to produce an immediate reasonable recipient; of disorderly conduct if a disorderly conduct to occur or possessed by him or under Exemptions. SECTION 2: All provisions of the code of the City of Riverside, Missouri which are inconsistent herewith are repealed and amended *_o conform wit:, this ordinance. The City Clerk is directed to incorporate the provisions of this ordinance into the appropriate sections of the City Code.
