AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16.7 OF ORDINANCE N0. 87-21
OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI REGARDING PUBLIC SEWERS AND
THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR THE USE AND SERVICE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Subsections (a), (b), (c) and (d) of SECTION 1
of Section 16.7 of Ordinance No. 87-21 of the City of
Riverside, Missouri are hereby repealed in their entirety and
in lieu thereof the following subsections are adopted.
(a) For each single

charge of $10.55 per month.

connection connected subsequent to June 1, 1989, a charge
of $26.00 per month.
(c) For each apartment house, mobile home park or
other multiple family residential sewer connection, a
charge of $5.00 per unit plus a commodity charge of $0.46
per hundred cubic feet of water purchased, a service charge
of 7 1/2~ of the volume charge and a service charge of
$2.40 per month.
(d) For commercial establishments and industrial
establishments, a charge of $35.00 per month, a commodity
charge of $0.46 per hundred cubic feet of water purchased
and a service charge of $2.40 per month.
notwithstanding any other provision of this ordinance, the
rates are subject to Kansas City increases as set forth in
Section 2(f) below.
SECTION 2: SECTION 1 of Section 16.7 of Ordinance No.
87-21 of the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new subsection (f) as follows:
(f) The City of Kansas City, Missouri treatment
charges in the form of surcharges, service charges and
volume charges as set forth in subsections a-e above may
from time to time be amended by the City of Kansas City,
Missouri and any increase or decrease in said charges shall
be added to or deducted from the foregoing rates when
adopted and implemented by the City of Kansas City,
Missouri.
SECTION 3: Subsection 8 of Section 16.7 of Ordinance No.
80-37 of the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby repealed in
its entirety and the following Section 8 enacted in lieu
thereof .
SECTION 8. Application for sewer services to premises
not connected with the City sewer system shall be made to
the City Engineer accompanied by a connection fee of
$250.00 for each sewer connection. Said fee is a
non-refundable connection charge. In case of reconnection
after service has been discontinued for non-payment of a
bill, such fee shall be in an amount adequate to reimburse
the City for disconnection costs and reconnection expenses,
in addition to the aforesaid application fee.
SECTION 4: All provisions of the code of the City of

repealed and amended to conform oath this ordinance. The City
Clerk is directed to incorporate the provisions of this
ordinance into the appropriate sections of the City Code.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall take full force and effect
upon voter approval and issuance of a certain $1,500,000.00
revenue bond proposal submitted to the voters of the City of
Riverside, Missouri at an election to be held June 6, 1989.
