HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-03-08 Special Meeting MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF ALDERMEN RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI Tuesday, March 8, 2011 5:30 p.m. The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Mayor Rose called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy Rose, Aldermen Ron Super, Brad Cope, Bernie Bruns, Mike Fuller, Aaron Thatcher and Dave Hurt. Also present were City Administrator David Blackburn, City Attorney Nancy Thompson, Cammunity Development Director Mike Duffy, Finance Director ponna Resz, Community Relations Director Meredith Hauck, and Attorneys Joe Bednar and Michael McKinley with Spencer Fane. MOTION TO ENTER INTO Alderman Hurt moved that the meeting go into closed CLOSED @ 5:37 P.M. session pursuant to RSMo 610.021 (1) Legal actions, litigation, or privileged communications, RSMo 610.021 (2) Leasing, purchase or sale of real estate by a public governmental body, RSMo610.021(3) Hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting a particular employee, when personal information about the employee is discussed, RSMo 610.021 (12) Sealed bids and related documents, until the bids are opened and contract is executed, or all are rejected, and RSMo. 610.021(13) Individually identifiable personnel records, perFormance ratings or records pertaining to employees, second by Alderman Thatcher. Yes: Hurt, Thatcher, Bruns, Cope, Fuller, and Super. Motion carried 6-D. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Super moved that the closed session be adjourned at CL.OSED @ 7:01 P.M. 7:01 p.m. with no action taken, second by Alderman Bruns. Yes: Super, Bruns, Fuller, Thatcher, Hurt, and Cope. Motion carried 6-0. � I I 1 I I j . SPECIAL MEETING (7:00 P.M.) Mayor Rose called the Special Open Session Meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy Rose, Aldermen Bernie Bruns, Brad Cope, Mike Fuller, David Hurt, Aaron Thatcher and Ron Super. Also present were City Administrator David Blackburn, City Attorney Nancy Thompson, Community Development Director Mike Duffy, Finance Director ponna Resz, and Community Relations Director Meredith Hauck. TEMP. LIQUOR LICENSE George Clinton, River Roll Skate Center owner came before the Board and Mayor to explain that he is requesting the temporary ' liquor license for two separate dates, March 13 and March 19� I� The Riverside Chamber is actually requesting the license and naming George's wife as Managing Agent for the Temporary License that is good for seven days which will cover both events listed above. Alderman Bruns moved to approve the Temporary Liquor License for March 13' and March 19` contingent upon State Liquor Control approval, second by Alderman Thatcher. Yes: Bruns, Thatcher, Hurt, Cope, and Super. No: Fuller Motion carried 5-1. PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Rose opened the Public Hearing at 7:12 p.m.to consider Bill No. 2011-009 a final site development plan for Johnson Control Inc. - 4100 JCI Final Development NW Mattox Road. This was brought to the Planning Commission last Thursday evening. Community Development Director Mike Duffy began by introducing and explaining the request, plan and design of the JCI development. This was recommended unanimously by the Planning Commission. Dexter Opela with Crosland was available to answer any questions. Mayor Rose closed the Public Hearing at 7:21 p.m. Community Relations Director Meredith Hauck gave first reading of Bill No. 2011-009. Second reading will follow at the next meeting. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Thatcher moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m., second by Alderman Bruns. Yes: Thatcher, Bruns, Cope, Super, and Fuller.
