ORDINANCE NO.~~~~~
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE JAILING OF DEFENDANTS PY THE
MONICIPAL JODCF, REPFALINC SFCTICN 4.18 CF ORDINANCE NC. 87-32
AND ENACTING A NEW SECTIGN 4.18 IN LIEU THEREOF.

SFCTICN 1. That Section 4.18 of Ordinance No. 87-32 of the
City of Riverside, Missouri is repealed in its entirety.
SFCTICN 2. That the fol]owinc_ Section. 4.18 of Ordinance
No. 87-32 is hereby enacted in lieu of the Section repealed.
4.18 Jailine of defendants. If in the opinion of the
Municipal Judae, the City has no suitable and safe place of
confinement, the Municipal Judae may commit the Defendant to
the County Jail or to any private correctional faci]ity with
which the City maintains a contractual arrangement for the
jailing of City prisoners, and it shall be the duty of the
Sheriff er the Jailer of any private facility upon. receipt. of a
warrant of commitment from the Judae to receive and safely keep
such prisoner until discharged by due process of law. The
municipality shall Fay the board of such prisoner at the same
rate as may now or hereafter be a]lowed to the Sheriff or to
ar.y private confinement facility for the keeping of such
prisoner ir. his or its custody. The same shall be taxed as
costs.
