HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-70 - Amendments to Section 14.4 of the Municipal Code P I L L N 0. ~~ ~~ ~~' ORDINANCE N0. ~~~~ ~~~ AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 14.4 OF THE RIVERSIDE CITY CODE AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 19.9 DECLARING APANDONED, WRECKED OR INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLES TO BE NUISANCES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD CF ALDERPIEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Section 19,9 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby repealed. SECTION 2: A new Section 19.4 of the Code of Crdinances for the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby enacted and reads as follows: 14.4 Abandoned, Wrecked or Inoperable C"otor Vehicles: Section 1. All abandoned, wrecked or inoperable motor vehicles as defined by this ordinance are hereby declared to be nuisances. Section 2. Abandoned vehicles shall mean any vehicle which is left at any place for such time and under such circumstances as to cause such vehicle reasonably to appear to have been abandoned. Inoperable motor vehicles shall mean any vehicle from which the engine, wheels or other parts have been altered, damaged or otherwise segregated, so that the vehicle is incapable of being driven under its own motor power, and which remains in that condition for a period of thirty (30) days or longer. Inoperable motor vehicle shall not include a motor vehicle which is kept within a building when not in use, or to any vehicle which is continuously kept inside a building. A wrecked vehicle shall mean a vehicle that is so damaged that is incapable of being operated. ~( Vehicles, as used in this chapter, shall mean any vehicle designed to travel along or over the ground by use of wheels, treads, runners or slides and is used to transport persons or property and shall include without limitation, automobiles, trucks, motor vehicles, tractors, wagons, buggies, bicycles or any part or portion thereof.
