HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-06-14 Special Work Session Q ..,.:. - , . . _ . . . _. . -,. �r.y,•p5C .a�.:�� MINUTES SPECIAL WORK SESSION BOARD OF ALDERMEN RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI Tuesday, June 14, 2011 6:00 p.m. l'he Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board c�f Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. h�ayor Rose called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy F;ose, Aldermen Ron Super, Brad Cope, Bernie Bruns, Mike Fuller, Dave Hurt, and Aaron l"hatcher. � A�Iso present were City Administrator David Blackburn, City Attorney Nancy Thompson, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community Development Director Mike Duffy, Finance Director ponna F;esz, Community Relations Director Meredith Hauck, Captain Chris Skinrood, Public Safety Ciirector Greg Mills, Operations Support Director Mike Shelton, Captain Gary McMullin, Fire Ghief Gordon Fowlston, Public Works Director Tom Wooddell, Capital Projects Engineer Travis Hoover, and Community Development Assistant Sarah Wagner. � Comments by Mayor Mayor Rose reported on the morning meeting that was held to inform the citizens and businesses in the city of the flood information that we have at this time. She also thanked Community Development Director Mike Duffy for an excellent job sharing the information and listening to the businesses. The Corp and the Levee Board were here also. The water will be ' monitored day by day. 2011-2072 Budget Finance Director ponna Resz began presenting the remainder of the budget proposal. Chief Mills shared an operating request to be added for two annual Law Enforcement Memorials that will now, forever be important for our city. Exact dollar amounts are i not certain, but are asking for $15,000 added to the budget. The other operating request is treatment for the algae at the fountains. This will be an annual cost of $5,000. Finance Director Resz then reviewed Debt Service, Tourism Tax, Personal Services and the 5 Year Outlook. City Administrator Blackburn reported on personnel and requested guidance from the the Board for their desired direction.
