HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2011-043 Purchase 2012 Tahoes Resolution No. R— 2011 - 043 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO 2012 CHEVY TAHOE POLICE VEHICLES FROM ROBERT'S CHEVROLET OFF THE MID AMERICA COUNCIL FOR PUBLIC I PURCHASWG CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $57,000.00 WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for acquisition of two vehicles to replace two 2006 Police cars used daily; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, Mid America Council for Public Purchasing (MACPP) has competitively bid and awarded a contract to Robert's Chevrolet; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of two 2012 Chevy Tahoes, from Robert's Chevrolet in an amount not to exceed $57,000.00; , NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT the purchase of two 2012 Chevy Police Package Tahoes from Robert's Chevrolet, in an amount not to exceed $57,000.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Police Chief and/or the City Administrator, or his designee, are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. AGENDA DATE: July 5, 2011 BACKGROUND: The purchase of two 2012 Chevy Police Package Tahoe's and equipment was approved in the 2011-2012 budget. The vehicles will be purchased through Robert's Chevy using the MARC contract. A significant portion of the emergency equipment will be purchased through Whelen Engineering based on the Missouri State Contract. These will be presented to the Board as two separate resolutions. BUDGETARY IMPACT: Total cost of this purchase is $68,574.19 (vehicles= $57,000 and equipment = $11,574.19). I
