HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-08-09 Workshop & Special Meeting M�NUTES WORKSHOP AND SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF ALDERMEN RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI Tuesday, August 9, 2011 6:00 p.m. The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday, � August 9, 2011. Mayor Rose called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy Rose, Aldermen David Hurt, Ron Super, Aaron Thatcher, Mike Fuller, Brad Cope, and Bernie Bruns. Also present were City Administrator David Blackburn, City Attorney Nancy Thompson, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community Development Director Mike Duffy, Attorney Joe Bednar, and Nathaniel Hagedorn with Briarcliff. MOTION TO ENTER INTO Alderman Thatcher moved that the meeting go into closed CLOSED @ 6:04 P.M. session pursuant to RSMo 610.021 (1) Legal Action and litigation, RSMo 610.021 (2) Leasing, Purchase or sale of real estate, RSMo610.021 (3) Hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting a particular employee, when personal information about the employee is discussed, and RSMo. 610.021(13) Individually identifiable personnel records, performance ratings or records pertaining to employees, second by Alderman Hurt. Yes: Thatcher, Hurt. Bruns, Cope, Super, and Fuller. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Hurt moved to recess closed session at 6:53 p.m. and CLOSED @ 6:53 P.M. continue closed session following open session, second by Alderman Super. Yes: Hurt, Super, Thatcher, Fuller, Bruns, and Cope. Motion carried 6-0. SPECIAL WORKSHOP Mayor Rose called the Special Workshop Session to order at 7:01 p.m. ENGINEERING WORKSHOP Community Development Director Mike Duffy introduced the four PRESENTATION engineers presenting information to the Board tonight, Darren Hennen with Olsson and Associates, Matt Eblin with Schafer, Klein, & Warren, Sabin Yanez with Cook,Flatt & Strobel, and 1 Aaron Bresette with HDR. A booklet that further explained the power point presentation regarding communications process for conducting engineering/design or construction services was given to each Board member and the Mayor. Time was allowed for questions and comments during and after the presentation. Break at 8:32 P. M. Motion moved by Alderman Hurt to take a short break, second by Alderman Super. Yes: Hurt, Super, Fuller, Bruns, Cope, and Thatcher. Motion carried 6-0. Mayor Rose reconvened the meeting at 8:46 p.m. MOTION TO ENTER INTO Alderman Fuller moved that the meeting go into closed CLOSED @ 8:47 P.M. session pursuant to RSMo610.021 (3) Hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting a particular employee, when personal information about the employee is discussed, and RSMo. 610.021(13) Individually identifiable personnel records, performance ratings or records pertaining to employees, second by Alderman Cope. Yes: Fuller, Cope, Bruns, Thatcher, Super, and Hurt. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Fuller moved the closed session be adjourned at CLOSED @ 10:07 P.M. 10:07 p.m. with no action taken, second by Alderman Hurt. Yes: Fuller, Hurt, Thatcher, Super, Bruns, and Cope. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Hurt moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:08 p.m. second by Alderman Fuller.
