A RESOLUTION AUTHORZING, APPROVING AND RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER 1 TO THE
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND MUSSELMAN & HALL
CONTRACTORS, FOR MATTOX ROAD AND ZEKE ROAD QUIET ZONES PROJECT —
RESULTING IN A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $261,593.60
WHEREAS, the City issued an Invitation to Bid for the Mattox Road Quiet Zone and the
Zeke Road intersection improvements within the City which was awarded to Musselman & Hall
Contractors, pursuant to Resolution R-2010-076; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it in the best interest of the City to authorize,
approve and ratify Change Order 1 to the agreement in the amount of $73,535.60, resulting in a
total revised contract amount not to exceed $261,593.60;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT Change Order 1 to the Agreement entered into by and between the City and
Musselman & Hall Contractors, and incorporated herein by reference resulting in a revised
contract amount not to exceed $261,593.60 is hereby authorized, ratified and approved.
FURTHER THAT the City Administrator and all other required city officials are
authorized to execute the change order authorized herein together with any and all documents
necessary or incidental to the performance thereof and to take such other actions and/or
execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and
other documents as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the
intent of this Ordinance.
BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of
the �ard of dermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this

RE: Contract for the Quiet Zones — Mattox and Zeke
BACKGROUND: Cook, Flatt & Strobel Engineers presented options for improving the at-grade
intersection of Mattox Rd. and the BNSF railway for the Quiet Zone project.
Additional improvements to the crossing were added because of the road
damage caused due to construction traffic of the JCI project. This change was
presented to the BOA and the additional amount was adopted in the 201 I-2012
CIP.
Original Contract Amount $188,058.00
Total this Change Order $73,535.60
Current Contract Total $261,593.60
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and acceptance of the change order
with Musselman & Hall Contractors to complete the Quiet Zone project.
BUDGETARY IMPACT: Approximately $261,593.60 will be expended out of the Quiet Zone budget for
the construction under this contract.
