A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, APPROVING AND RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER 3 TO
THE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND VF ANDERSON
BUILDERS, LLC FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 41 STREET HORIZONS SANITARY
SEWER PROJECT — RESUITING IN A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $3,032,439.06
FOR SUCH PURPOSES - ACCEPTING THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS CONSTRUCTED
UNDER SUCH CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT TO THE CONTRACTOR
WHEREAS, the City issued an Invitation to Bid for the construction of the 41 Street
Horizons Sanitary Sewer Project within the City which was awarded to VF Anderson Builders,
LLC pursuant to Resolution R-2011-024; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it in the best interest of the City to authorize,
approve and ratify Change Order 3 reducing the contract amount in the sum of $105,230.24
resulting in a total revised contract amount not to exceed $3,032,439.06 and to further authorize '
acceptance of the project and final payment to the contractor,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT Change Order 3 to contractor under the Agreement entered into by and between
the City and VF Anderson Builders, LLC and incorporated herein by reference resulting in a
revised contract amount of $3,032,439.06 is hereby authorized, ratified and approved. '
FURTHER THAT all work under the contract with VF Anderson Builders, LLC is hereby
accepted and approved and finat payment under the contract is hereby authorized and
approved;
FURTHER THAT the City Administrator and all other required city officials are
authorized to execute the change order authorized herein together with any and all documents
necessary or incidental to the perFormance thereof and to take such other actions andlor
execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and ,
other documents as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the ,
intent of this Resolution.
BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of
the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this

RE: Change Order 3 and Final Pay for the 41" St, Horizons Sanitary Sewer Project.
BACKGROUND: Staff and Olsson Associates previously presented change orders I& 2 for the
41" St, Horizons Sanitary Sewer project. Change Order 3 includes quantity
adjustments which final the line item totals for the project.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and acceptance of the change order '
and final payment to VF Anderson Builders for the 41 St, Horizons Sanitary
Sewer project.
BUDGETARY IMPACT: Approximately $3,032,439.06 will be expended out of the 41" St, Horizons
Sanitary Sewer budget for the construction under this contract.

Description and Reasan of Changes
Item q6: Unclassified Excavation ; Reduction was due to changes priorta the contratt beginning, the
City of Riverside had subgrade modificaCfons and frlls placed priorto this project beginning to expedite
the Johnson Cqntrois project.
Item #7: Contractor Furnished Borrow; Elimination was due to changes prior to the contrect
beginning, the City of Riverside had subgrade modifications and fill placed prior to this project beginning
to expedite the Johnson Controls project.
ltem #19: Sediment Fence; This item was reduced due to actual footage used and measured.
Item #10: Rock Check Dam; This item was reduced due to ectuaf amou�t used and measured.
item #li: Infet Check; The elimination of inlet checic were due to the demand and usage.
item #18: 2"APWA Type 6-01 Asphaltic Concrete Surface; The reduction of tonnage was due to the
change ot entrance #2 of lohnson Controls, from asphalt to concrete at the request and approval by
the city.
Item # 19: 9"APWA Type Cr01 Asphaitic Concrete Base; The reduction of tonnage was due to the
change of entrance #2 to Johnson Controls, from asphalt to concrete at the request and approval by
the city.
Item #20: 9" Nfln Reinforced PCCP; The additional Sq. Yds. were due to the change of entrance #2 of
Johnson Controls, from asphalt to concrete at the request and approval by the city.
ltem # 21: 4" Concrete Sidewalk; The reduced Sq. Ft. were due to the concurrent city project
transferring fill across proposed sidewalk location. The city chose to eliminate that purtion sidewalk
from this contract.
Item # 23: Type C6-1 Curb & Gutter ; The additional L.F. of curb and guttering was due to the chan$ing
of entrance #2 of Johnson Controls from asphalt to concrete and actual measured iength of C&G.
Itemlt 27: Sodding; The additional arnount of sodding used was due to the additional sodding adjacent
to the storm sewer end sedions tpotential erosion areas} requested by the city.
Item #30: •End Sections (15" RCP); The reduction of this item was due to an error on the original
contract, the pfans only designated four.
Items #32: End Section (24" RtP); The reduction of these end sections were due to concurrent plans oP
lohnson controls called for a weir inlet, which eliminated the two end sections from this contract.
item #38: Pavement Marking 12" YeiJow (Thermoplastic); 7his item was reduced due to actual footage `
used and measured.
Item # 39: Pavement Marking 6" White (Thermoplastic); This item was increases due to actual footage ;
used and measured.
Item tt40: Pavement Marking 24 White(Thermoplastic); This item was reduced due to actual footage
used and measured.

Item 74: Moving Manhale 2002; The intended shifting of MH 2O02 requested by the contractor, did not
happen due to the currentffeld conditions at that time.
Item 76 & 78: Horixons Sanitary Sewer F&G; This Lump Sum amount for the construction and
installation of Line F&G was reduced due to eliminating the seeding from the proposed area.
