A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO 2013 FORD POLICE VEHICLES
FROM SHAWNEE MISSION FORD OFF THE MID AMERICA COUNCIL FOR PUBLIC
PURCHASING CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $51,232.00
WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for acquisition of two vehicles to replace two
older Police vehicles used daily; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the
practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities
through the cooperative bidding process; and
WHEREAS, Mid America Council for Public Purchasing (MACPP) has competitively bid and
awarded a contract to Shawnee Mission Ford; and
WHEREAS, funds for such purpose are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of one 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan and
one 2013 Ford F-250 Pickup, from Shawnee Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $51,232.00;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the purchase of one 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan and one 2013 Ford F-250
Pickup, from Shawnee Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $51,232.00 is hereby authorized
and approved; and
FURTHER THAT the Police Chief and/or the City Administrator, or his designee, are hereby
authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is
authorized to attest thereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of
the City of Riverside, Missouri, the 07f�'Cay of July, 2012.

BACKGROUND: The purchase of one 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan with
equipment and one 2013 Ford F-250 Pickup with equipment was approved in the
2012-2013 budget. The vehicles will be purchased through Shawnee Mission Ford
using the MARC contract. The emergency equipment will be purchased through
Whelen Engineering based on the Missouri State Contract. These will be
presented to the Board as two separate resolutions.
BUDGETARY IMPACT: Total cost of this purchase is $55,870 (vehicles= $51,232
and equipment/Installation = $7,878).
