AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1137 WHICH AUTHORIZED THE i
EMPLOYMENT OF MICHAEL REILLY AS A FULL-TIME MAINTENANCE WORKER I IN
THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS �
WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.070 provides for the appointment of employees i
of the City by the City Administrator with approval of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen; and �
WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.140 provides for the establishment of the salary i
of non-elected employees of the City by ordinance; and '
WHEREAS, Ordinance 1137 was approved by the Board of Aldermen on July 17tn �
2012 setting the starting salary of employee at $25,100; and '
WHEREAS, the starting salary of employee was a typographical error and the '
actual starting salary should have been shown as $30,300.00; and i
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to �
amend Ordinance 1137 to provide for a starting salary for Michael Reilly as a Maintenance
Worker I in the Department of Public Works as provided herein; �
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF '
THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1— ORDINANCE 7137 AMENDED. Section 2 of Ordinance 1137 is I
hereby amended by deleting "$25,100.00 per year' and replacing it with "$30,300.00 per ;
year', such that said Section shall read as follows:
STARTING SALARY. The starting salary for this position shall be set at �
$30,300.00 per year and the employee shall be placed on a one-year work �
test period. The salary shall thereafter be adjusted according to the annual i
budget and the personnel policies and procedures of the City as may be
adopted from time to time. ;
SECTION 2- REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances or parts of

ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. ;
SECTION 3— SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are I
severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, !
such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance.

SECTION 4— EFFECTIVE DATE. This effectiveness of this ordinance shall apply �
retroactively to the date of hire of employee. I

Michael Reilly was hired as Maintenance Worker I on July 17, 2012 by the Board of Aldermen. Although the �
ordinance memo had the correct pay rate indicated ($30,300), the pay rate on the ordinance was incorrectly i
listed at $25,100. This new ordinance will correct this error and make his pay rate $30,300 annually.
