Home My WebLink About1148 Agreement Amendment with HDR BILL NO. 2012-054 ORDINANCE NO. II �� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH HDR ENGINEERING, INC. TO PROVIDE FOR A CHANGE IN THE SCOPE OF SERVICES TO INCLUDE SPECIFIC DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE INTERURBAN BRIDGE AND TRAIL BANK STABILIZATION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,813.21 WHEREAS, the City of Riverside, Missouri ("City") approved the qualifications of HDR Engineering, Inc. ("HDR") to provide certain engineering services within the City and entered into an agreement with HDR at such time for provision of on-call engineering services within the City pursuant to Ordinance 2009-110 (hereinafter the "AgreemenY'); and WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the Scope of Services under the Agreement to authorize specified engineering services related to the Interurban Bridge and Trail Bank Stabilization Project; and WHEREAS, the amount of $30,063.21 has previously been paid out of the city treasury for such services with a remaining amount due not to exceed an additional $10,750.00; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to provide for such additional services, ratify prior expenditures and authorize additional expenditures as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1— AMENDMENT APPROVED. Execution and delivery of an amended scope of services to the Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby approved and all prior actions taken with regard to the acquisition and payment of such services from HDR in connection with the Interurban Bridge and Trail Bank Stabilization Project are hereby approved, ratified and authorized. SECTION 2— AUTHORITY GRANTED. The Mayor, the City Administrator, the City Attorney and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perForm all matters herein authorized and any actions taken prior to the adoption of this ordinance are hereby ratified and approved. SECTION 3— EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. (HDR) completed design and development of conshuction plans and specifications for the referenced project on August 6, 2012 as part of our On-Call City Engineering Services contract dated August 4, 2009. The services completed by HDR to date include the following tasks. • Obtained U.S. Atmy Corps of Engineers 404 Pemut Authorization • Preliminary Plan Development • Coordinarion with KCMO Water Services • Supplemental Topographio Survey + Final Construction Plans and SpecificaUon Development • AdveRised Project for Bid and Bid Package Reproduction/Distribution These services have been completed on an howly basis plus reimbursable expenses: HDR's August invoice, which will account for charges through July 28, 2012, indicates total project related billings of $28,470.84. Work completed to finalize the Bid Fackage for Advertisement between July 29, 2012 and August 6, 2012 indicates an additional $1,592.37 witl be invoiced in September resulting in total project related chazges to date of $30,063.21. ("HDR") entered into an Agreement on Auaust 9th . 2009 to perform engineering services for the C� of Riverside ("Riverside"); Riverside desires to amend this Agreement in order for HDR to perform services beyond those previously contemplated; HDR is willing to amend the agreement and perform ihe addiGonal engineering services.
