Home My WebLink About1158 Extension of Contract with Kansas City for Ambulance Service BILL NO. 2012-064 ORDINANCE NO. � AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND THE CITY OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE WHEREAS, on or about the 15` day of October, 2009, the City of Riverside ("Riverside") entered into an agreement with Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust ("MAST") to provide paramedic ambulance services pursuant to approval granted by Ordinance 2009-149 ("AgreemenY'); and WHEREAS, the MAST ambulance service was merged into the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department in April of 2010 and at such time the City of Kansas City, Missouri ("Kansas City") assumed all of the rights, duties and obligations of MAST under the Agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agreement will terminate on October 14, 2012 unless the parties take action to extend the terms of such Agreement; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen find that it would be in the best interests of the City of Riverside for the City to enter into an Amendment to the Agreement to Provide Paramedic Ambulance Services in order to extend the termination date of such contract to April 30, 2013; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, as follows: SECTION 1— AMENDMENT AUTHORIZED. Execution and delivery of Contract Amendment No. 1 for the Agreement to Provide Paramedic Ambulance Services to be substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, (the "AmendmenY') to extend the termination date of the Agreement to April 30, 2013 is hereby approved and authorized. SECTION 2— AUTHORITY GRANTED. The Mayor is authorized to execute the Amendment and the o�cers, agents, and employees of the City are hereby authorized to take such further action and execute and deliver such documents and instruments as may be necessary or desirable to carry out and comply with the intent of this ordinance on behalf of the City. SECTION 3— EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
