HomeMy WebLinkAbout1180 New Hire Sanders - PoliceBILL NO. 2013 -003 ORDINANCE NO.� AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF COREY SANDERS AS A FULL -TIME POLICE OFFICER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY AND START DATE FOR SUCH EMPLOYEE WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.070 provides for the appointment of employees of the City by the City Administrator with approval of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.140 provides for the establishment of the salary of non- elected employees of the City by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to approve the appointment of Corey Sanders as a Police Officer in the Department of Public Safety as provided herein; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — HIRING OF EMPLOYEE. Corey Sanders is hereby employed as a Full -Time Police Officer in the Department of Public Safety. SECTION 2 — STARTING SALARY. The starting base salary for this position shall be set at $18.10 per hour, equivalent to $37,648 on an annual basis. The salary shall thereafter be adjusted according to the annual budget and the personnel policies and procedures of the City as may be adopted from time to time. in conflict with this ordinance are All ordinances or parts of ordinances SECTION 4 — SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 5 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of January 9, 2013.
