HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-11-10 Planning & Zoning Commission MinutesMINUTES REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI Thursday, November 10, 2011 7:00 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in regular session in the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri. Chair Barbara Snyder called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Answering roll call were Barbara Snyder, At Bowman, Art Homer, Harold Snoderley, Ray Uhl, Tyson Spire -Sweet and Mayor Kathy Rose. Members absent: Stephen King, Steve Kaspar, Cheryl Melton, Mike Solar and Alderman Brad Cope. Also present: Mike Duffy, Community Development Director, Sarah Wagner Community Development and Keith Payne Fire Marshall. Approval of Minutes of Commissioner Bowman moved to approve the minutes of October 27, October 27, 2011 2011. Commissioner Snoderley seconded and the motion was approved unanimously. Minor Change of Use Sarah Wagner gave a staff report to the Commission. She 6407 NW Gateway explained the applicant, Impact Northland, is requesting a Minor Change of Use Permit to allow a resale facility on the property at 4609 NW Gateway. The business is run by a not- for - profit group affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Their hours of operation are proposed to be Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to approximately 6 or 7 p.m. This operation will be run by five staff members and supported by a volunteer base. The request is in accordance with adopted policies and plans and is compatible with surrounding land uses; therefore, staff recommends approval of the Minor Change of Use Permit. The applicant, Josh Reed was present to answer questions from the Commission. Commissioner Bowman moved to approve the Minor Change of Use Permit for Impact Northland. Commissioner Spire -Sweet seconded and the motion passed 7 -0. Adjournment Commissioner Homer moved to adjourn. Commissioner Uhl seconded.
