Board of Aldermen
City of Riverside, Missouri
June 1, 2006
A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held
in the Public Safety Training Room, of Riverside, Missouri, on June 1, 2006, at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Kathy Rose called the meeting to order. Those in attendance were Mayor Rose
and Aldermen Beard, Darata, Bruns, Jones, Super and Hurt.
Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, Jane Henry, Administration
Assistant, Public Safety Chief Gregory Mills, Brent Miles, Director of Planning, John
McClelland, City Attorney, Finance Director Donna Resz and Public Safety Officers, Gary
McMullin, Mike Costanzo and Chris Skintood.
Public Safety Chief Greg Mills gave a PowerPoint presentation to the Board detailing
program changes he would like to implement in Fiscal Year 2006-2007.. A few of the changes
were adding officers, creating a fire marshal position, initiating a tuition reimbursement program,
upgrading the fleet and conducting a salary study that would include all city positions.
In Finance Director Donna. Resz's PowerPoint presentation, she put dollar amounts to the
budget requests. The total requested Public Safety budget with expanded program requests is
$1,873,553.
Officer Dean Noll was invited to the meeting to demonshate the use of trier weapons.
He showed videos that illustrated the effectiveness of the weapon.
The mayor and the board agrced to meet again to discuss other aspects of the budget on
June 8 at 7:00 p.m.
By general consent, the meeting was adjourned.
