RIVERSIDE PARKS BOARD MEETING
MINUTES
January 9, 2013
6:00 p.m.
The Riverside Parks Board held their regularly scheduled meeting at Riverside City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside
Missouri 64150. Those in attendance were: Tim Miller, Terri Dwyer, Deborah Leader, Ken Smith, Mayor Kathy Rose,
Public Works Director Tom Wooddell and Administration Director Meredith Hauck (recorder). Alderman Mike Fuller and
Julie Rule were absent.
Call to Order The Parks Board Meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m.
October 3, 2012 Minutes No quorum to approve at this point in the meeting. The October minutes will be moved to
the next meeting's agenda.
Public Works Parks and Public Works Director Tom Wooddell provided an overview of the maintenance activities in
Trails Maintenance the City's parks and trails. The following items were of note:
Update
- The Public Works Department will work on replacing the pumps and motors at the
waterfall. Wooddell estimates it will cost about $7,000 to repair. He will update
the Parks Board on progress at the next meeting.
2013 Recreation Program Hauck provided the Parks Board with the 2013 Recreation Division Calendar.
Update
Other Updates Mayor Rose provided the following updates:
- 2013 Riverfest Planning process -She reported that the Tourism Commission
challenged the Planning Committee to plan their ideal event and look at bringing in
a bigger entertainment act. The Committee will present their plan to the Tourism
Commission in February.
- EH Young Master Plan - Rose reported that the Board of Aldermen was going to
have a workshop later in the month to evaluate their funding priorities and they
may look at taking a different route for EH Young Park. The priority is to get some
basic repairs done to allow for better event access before the event season started.

Parkand52 nd and Northwood— Rose said that Riverside is still working with Platte
County to determine the future of this park. It's 114 acres and some potential uses
could be Frisbee golf, fishing, cross country, and a dog park.
