OCTOBER 3, 1998
LeAnn Zimmerman, President, called the meeting to order. Wayne
Snyder, Helen Crist, Bill Bright, Lori Krause and Shirley Fessel
attended. City Administrator Ann Daniels and Alderman Betty Burch
also attended.
The City Administrator informed the Board concerning budget and
park project progress.
The Board approved a motion to continue investigations for the
installation of a bell tower or carillon in the park as a memorial to
the extensive contributions Mr. Young and his late wife have made to
Riverside progressive development.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. The next
meeting is scheduled for November 7, 1998 at 7:30 a.m. in City Hall.

MINUTES OF THE RIVERSIDE PARK BOARD
NOVEMBER 7, 1998
The meeting was called to order by LeeAnn Zimmerman. In
attendance were Helen Crist, Wayne Snyder, Bill Bright, Betty Burch, Ann
Daniels, Pam Darata, and Lori Krause.
Homestead Park continues to be refurbished as weather allows.
Riverfront Park continues to be developed. Formal dedication of the park will
be scheduled for this coming spring.
A representative from Bucher-Willis gave an estimate of $25,000 for a
single tennis court.
The Bell Tower discussion listed $39,000 as an estimate, including a
sign. Bill Bright moved and Wayne Synder seconded a motion for a Scope of
Services estimate from Bucher Willis, which includes, in addition to bell
tower and entry signage, park entry planning, area irrigation, tennis court
construction details, and electrical design. Motion carried.
Schulmerich and ChimeMaster are being considered for the carillon.
_ Homer McKeon is the part-time employee for the Community Center,
which is now open from 3 to 6 p.m. for children under 16 on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays. Adults may come from 6 to 9 p.m. on the same
days. Indoor walking is availabe from Sam to noon daily.
The next meeting will be December 12th at 7:30 a.m.
