Those in attendance were: Sara Thatcher, Ron Carlson, Jim Frakes, Jerry Hackenberg, Kathy Rose, Lori Rardeen, Julie Rule, Brent Miles and Jane Henry. The minutes of the park board meeting on September 5, 2006, were approved. Thatcher made the motion to approve and Hackenberg seconded. All voted in favor. Master Plan presentation Stephen Hardy and Rachel Wedel of BNIM Architects presented the proposed Master Plan for the City of Riverside to the Park Board, especially as the Plan pertains to parks and recreation. Hardy commented that in the ETC survey of Riverside residents, hiking trails ranked very high. Miles explained that the City is working with the Army Corps of Engineers with 3 major projects, 2 of which are trails: a pump station located in the Horizons Project, the Missouri Riverfront Trail, and the Line Creek Trail. The Corps' review process takes a long time, which explains the delay in starting the 2 trails. Miles further stated that he had contacted Platte County Parks and Recreation to ask for an extension of our grant from them for landscaping the Line Creek Trail. PCPR agreed to the extension. Hardy pointed out that the City is in a good position to network with Metro Green. He encouraged the City to work with MARC; there are grants available for cities for trails. Also, Enhancement Funds, administered by Deparhnent of Transportation will be available this Spring. Stormwater Management, Rain Gardens, and the Stream Corridor Setback Ordinance were also discussed. Mayor Rose asked about seeding and fertilizing the park areas. Mayor Rose complimented the Park Board and Stephen Hardy, BNIM, for a job well done on the Master Plan. She added that Line Creek Trail would be a top priority in the Spring. The meeting continued as Mayor Rose, Brent Miles and Jane Henry left to participate in the BOA regular session. ~ ~ Jane Henry Efcecutive Administration Assistant Page 1 ADOPTED b The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this ~~d~y of , 2007. sy: (SEAL) ATTEST: Henry, `ecreta
