MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF
~, OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
May 6; 1986
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri on May 6, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, aldermen
Karr, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present; Gordy and Best absent
and said meeting was called to order by Mayor Holmes.
It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes
of April 15, 1986 and April 29; 1986, for the present time.
Joe Joseph, 313 N. Wheeling, Kansas City, Missouri, pre-
sented an application for Business License at 124 NW Business Park
Lane to sell gifts. He said Richard Wilson had given him permission
to apply for a license. This would be for the gifts only and not
the sale of magazines or printed matter. Mr. Joseph was advised
that the ordinances would have to be searched to see if this type
of business would be allowed in the Bingo Hall and he would be
advised accordingly.
Toni J. Case, 5116 N.E. 46th Street, Kansas City, MO 64117,
presented a business license application for Beaus & Eros at 404
N.W. Business Park Lane. This would be used for offices and storage
~ of merchandise only. This is a home-party type plan and individual
people would have the parties at their houses. This would be check
out with Don Witt to see if this type of business would be permitted
- the obtaining of license would be subject to City Attorney Don
Witt's approval and the payment of the fee.
Mrs. Meloine Parks.. 5108 N.W. Merrimac, presented an
appliction to build a deck on the front of the house at said loca-
tion; she said that the Board of Zoning Adjustment did approve
the less than 35 feet set back. This was approved subject to the
payment of the fee.
Kevin J. Bottilt!-i, 516 N. Shore, Lake Waukomis presented
business license ~~r` Courier Express Delivery & Freight at 416
N.W. Business Park Lane, this was approved subject to the payment
of the fee.
Karr. moved that we approve the enlargement of the Red-
X Liquor Department, seconded by Wedua, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Karr, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye;
Gordy and Best absent.
Bids to reroof the City Hall were received as follows:

~ Murphy & Sons.Roofing Company - A & B - $4,620.
Earl hawkins Roofing Company - A & B - $10,895.
Lloyd Krull Roofing - A & B - $8,260.
It was decided to secure .more information on the bids
and report back at the next meeting.
Bids to clean the City Hall were received as follows:
Edna's Cleaning Service - Mon.,Wed., & Fri. - $360 per month.
Fred Brooks - A-1 Cleaning - Three days per week, $210.00 per month
Commercial Cleaning Service - $20.00 per hour for bringing the
facilities up to being acceptable (approximately 6 hours) and then
three days per week - $546.00 per month.
It was decided to secure more information on what the
price includes.
The minutes of April 15, 1986, were read and approved
as corrected.
~, The minutes of April 29, 1986, were read and approved
as corrected.
The person to help with the mosquitoe sprayer is due to
be here anytime.
A discussion was had concerning car-check on City Vehicle
Stickers and it was suggested this information be put in the news
letter.
Wedua reported that BFI had graded and repaired Mattox
Road from the railroad tracks and south and the City has repaired
the streed from the railroad tracks and north.
City Clerk Betty Burch said that he received an inquiry
from Leann Zimmerman concerning the cleaning of the drainage on
Valley Lane.
City Clerk Betty Burch announced that there would be a
ball game with KFKF on the City's Ball Diamond (weather permitting)
at 7:00 p.m. on May 21st.
It was announced that there would be a hearing on the
proposed-use of the Revenue Sharing money on June 10, 1986.
