HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-07-15N MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI l July 15, 1986 A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of the city of Riverside, Misosuri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on July 15, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. The roll was called and Aldermen Karr, Gordy, BEst, Peeler, and Wedua were present; Brenner absent and Mayor Holmes called said meeting to order. It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes of July 8, 1986, for the present time. Orville Harris, 4421 N. Belfountain, Kansas City, Mis- souri, d/b/a Bill's Muffler Shop, at N.W.Gateway and N.W. Platte. He was present to discuss the possiblity of his building a privacy fence to hide the junk mufflers until he hauls them away. He said the fence would be a nice fence, painted and would be well kept. After a discussion of the matter, everyone was in agreement that it would be in order for him to build a privacy fence and it is to be completed by the 19th of August, 1986. Mr. Harris agreed to this. The minutes of July 8, 1986, were read and approved. The 1986-87 Budget was discussed and a few changes made. Karr moved that the City adopt the 1986-87 Budget as now ~ presented, seconded by Best, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler and Wedua voted aye; Best absent. _ . Gordy moved that we go into recess, seconded by Karr, the rollw as called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler and Wedua voted aye; Brenner absent. The meeting reconvened July 17, 1986 at 5:00 p.m. The roll was called and Aldermen Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present. In the absence of Mayor Holmes, Mayor Pro Tem Peeler called said meeting to order. The Finance Committee announced that they had sent out eight letters to different banks requesting bids on $500,000.00, and the following bids were received: Bank of Riverside, on $200,000, for six months - 5.60% interest. Boatmen's First National Bank, on $500,000.00 - discount notes for 90 days - 6.087° and for six months - 6.15% interest. Karr moved that we accept the best bid, same being Boatmen's Firat National Bank on $500,000.00 for six months at ~ 6.15% intereet and that same be Bill No. 86-34, and placed on its first reading, seconded by Gordy, the-roll was called and votes were s follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem, said bill was accordingly read. Gordy moved that Bill No. 86-34 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Wedua, the roll was called and votes were as follows:- Karr, Gordy, Best, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem, said bill was accordingly ready. Gordy moved that Bill No. 86-34 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance N0. 86-34, second- ed by Best, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem; said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part, hereof, approved by Mayor Pro Tem Peeler and became Ordinance No. 86-34. There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
