A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 2014 FORD UTILITY POLICE
INTERCEPTOR VEHICLE FROM SHAWNEE MISSION FORD, INC. OFF THE MID AMERICA
COUNCIL FOR PUBLIC PURCHASING CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$28,000.00
WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for acquisition of one vehicle to replace one
older Police vehicle used daily; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the
practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities
through the cooperative bidding process; and
WHEREAS, Mid America Council for Public Purchasing (MACPP) has competitively bid and
awarded a contract to Shawnee Mission Ford, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, funds for such purpose are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2013 -2014 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of one 2014 Ford Utility Police Interceptor vehicle
from Shawnee Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $28,000.00;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the purchase of one 2014 Ford Utility Police Interceptor vehicle, from Shawnee
Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $28,000.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and
FURTHER THAT the Police Chief and /or the City Administrator, or his designee, are hereby
authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is
authorized to attest thereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of
the City of Riverside, Missouri, the a^/_fl_da of July, 2013.

BACKGROUND: The purchase of one Ford Utility Police Interceptor with
equipment that was approved in the 2013 -2014 budget. The vehicle will be
purchased through Shawnee Mission Ford using the MARC contract. The
emergency equipment will be purchased through Whelen Engineering based on
the Missouri State Contract.
BUDGETARY IMPACT: Total cost of this purchase is $35,314 (vehicle= $27,514
and equipment= $7,800).
