SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
Saturday, August 24, 2013
8:00 a.m.
The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board
of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Saturday,
August 24, 2013.
Mayor Kathy Rose called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Those in attendance were Mayor
Kathy Rose, Alderman Brad Cope, Art Homer, Ron Super, Seth DeRose, and Mike Fuller.
Alderman Aaron Thatcher was absent.
Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community
Development Director Mike Duffy, Finance Director Donna Resz, Administration Director
Meredith Hauck, City Engineer Travis Hoover, and City Planner Jackie Carlson.
WORKSHOP @ 8:00 A.M. Administration Director Meredith Hauck began the workshop by
reviewing results of the ETC Survey and the Master Plan mission
and vision.
City Planner Jackie Carlson began the PowerPoint presentation
regarding trails and discussed the 2006 Master Plan along with
the current network and the future plan network of trails. The BOA
consensus was to make trail connections the first priority. Trail
partnerships, biking, signage and security were discussed.
Hauck addressed parks and the Board's vision for them now and
in the future with detailed information included in a PowerPoint.
Motion moved by Alderman Fuller authorizing Community
Development Director Duffy and City Attorney Paul Campo to
explore possible acquisition of portions of the Key Trust property,
second by Alderman DeRose.
Yes: Fuller, DeRose, Super, Fuller, and Cope.
Motion carried 5 -0.
An overview of the recreation division, events in the
community center, staffing, programs, YMCA partnerships, and
the city pool were all addressed and prioritized.
Operation Upstream was introduced and the Board will be given
more details in the future.
MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Cope moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 a.m.,
second by Alderman Fuller.
Yes: Cope, Fuller, Thatcher, DeRose, Homer, and Super.
Motions carried 5 -0.
