AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING REAL ESTATE TO THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, PLATTE
COUNTY, MISSOURI.
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 71.012 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, a petition
requesting the annexation of certain land owned by City of Riverside was filed with the City Clerk;
and,
WHEREAS, due public notice in the manner prescribed by law was given of a public
hearing concerning this matter before the Board of Aldermen for April 15, 2014; and,
WHEREAS,the Board of Alderman did hold a public hearing on April 15, 2014.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, finds that the
area to be annexed is contiguous and compact to the existing corporate limits of the city, that said
annexation is reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the city and that the city has
the ability to furnish normal municipal services to the area to be annexed within a reasonable time.
SECTION 2. That the following real estate, described below, is annexed to the City of
Riverside,Missouri, and the city limits of Riverside are hereby extended to include such territory:
All that part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 32, Township 51, Range 33, Platte County,
Missouri, and all that part of Lots 1 thru 12, RIDGEWOOD ESTATES, a subdivision of land in
Platte County, Missouri, being hereby described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of
the Southwest Quarter of said Section 32, thence North 89 degrees 00 minutes 07 seconds West,
a distance of 36.00 feet; thence North 00 degrees 50 minutes 28 seconds East, a distance of 59.26
feet; thence North 44 degrees 54 minutes 58 seconds West, a distance of 96.28 feet; thence North
89 degrees 38 minutes 54 seconds West, a distance of 67.46 feet; thence North 00 degrees 21
minutes 06 seconds East, a distance of 74.00 feet; thence South 89 degrees 38 minutes 54
seconds East, a distance of 66.75 feet; thence North 45 degrees 26 minutes 35 seconds East, a
distance of 100.13 feet; thence North 00 degrees 50 minutes 28 seconds East, a distance of
1033.67 feet to the South line of said RIDGEWOOD ESTATES; thence North 89 degrees 12
minutes 49 seconds West, along the South line of said RIDGEWOOD ESTATES, a distance of
4.00 feet; thence North 00 degrees 50 minutes 28 seconds East, a distance of 403.91 feet; thence
North 77 degrees 35 minutes 35 seconds West, a distance of 10.21 feet; thence North 00 degrees
50 minutes 28 seconds East, a distance of 261.35 feet; thence South 89 degrees 50 minutes 28
seconds West, a distance of 2.0 feet; thence North 00 degrees 50 minutes 28 seconds East, a
distance of 460.19 feet to the Kansas City-Riverside City limit line; thence South 89 degrees 24
minutes 12 seconds East, along the said City limit line, a distance of 40.00 feet to the East line of
the Southwest Quarter of said Section 32; thence South 00 degrees 50 minutes 28 seconds West
along the East line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 32, a distance of 2434.25 feet, to the
Point of Beginning.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval, provided that the City Clerk does not receive written objection to the proposed
annexation later than fourteen days after the public hearing by at least five percent of the
qualified voters of the City.
SECTION 4. If no objection is filed pursuant to Section 3, then the City Clerk is hereby
instructed to cause three (3) certified copies of this ordinance to be filed with the County Assessor
and County Clerk of Platte County, Missouri, and also to cause one (1) certified copy of this
ordinance to be filed with the Platte County Board of Election Commissioners.
BE IT REMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND
APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the
