BOARD OF ALDERMEN
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
Monday, June 2, 2014
4:00 p.m.
The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special workshop session in
the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on
Monday, June 2, 2014.
Mayor Rose called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy
Rose, Aldermen Art Homer, Mike Fuller, Chet Pruett, Brad Cope, Aaron Thatcher, and Ron
Super.
Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community
Development Director Mike Duffy, Public Works Director Tom Wooddell, Administration
Director Meredith Hauck, Fire Chief Gordy Fowlston, and Police Major Chris Skinrood.
WORKSHOP @ 4:03 P.M. City Administrator Greg Mills explained the process of walking the
2014-2015 Budget Board through the 2014-2015 budget. Working on the budget with
the guidance from the Board to establish a six month general fund
expenditure balance, a BOA Contingency Fund with a balance of
$1.5 million, General Fund growth is .9%. We are requesting no
additional full time staff, reduction of part-time staff budget, we are
partially funding salary inequities brought to you previously, and
we have made off-setting budget cuts to the current budget by
$228,000.
Finance Director Donna Resz reviewed the PowerPoint
presentation including budget highlights, debt service fund, fund
balances, and revenues.
Administration Director Meredith Hauck reviewed the salary and
benefits for the upcoming fiscal year. Salary ranges will be
updated this year. A detail of the inquiry to elected official health
insurance coverage was explained.
Finance Director Resz reviewed Horizons, 5 year outlook,
Capital Equipment Fund, vehicles, computer equipment, facility
improvements, infrastructure maintenance, trails, and
miscellaneous other funds detailed in the PowerPoint.
City Administrator Mills discussed the Reverse 911 concerns with
the increase in cost and restricted use.
The Board had opportunities to ask questions throughout the
presentation. There will be another workshop allowing the Board

to ask any questions from the presentation, on June 10`". The
ordinance to adopt will be on June 17'".
MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Cope moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:22 p.m.,
second by Alderman Thatcher.
Yes: Cope, Thatcher, Super, Fuller, Homer, and Pruett.
Motions carried 6-0.
