SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
Tuesday, June 10, 2014
4:00 P.M.
The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board
of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday,
June 10, 2014.
Mayor Kathy Rose called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor
Kathy Rose, Alderman Art Homer, Ron Super, Chet Pruett, Aaron Thatcher, and Mike Fuller.
Alderman Brad Cope was absent.
Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community
Development Director Mike Duffy, Public Works Director Tom Wooddell, Administration
Director Meredith Hauck, City Engineer Travis Hoover, Finance Director Donna Resz, Police
Major Chris Skinrood, and Fire Chief Gordon Fowlston. Special Counsel Joe Bednar was also
present.
MOTION TO ENTER INTO Alderman Homer moved that the meeting go into closed
CLOSED @ 4:01 P.M. session pursuant to RSMo 610.021 (1) Legal Action and
litigation, RSMo 610.021(2) Leasing, purchase or sale of real
estate by a governmental body where public knowledge of the
transaction might adversely affect the legal consideration, and
RSMo 610.021 (12) Sealed bids and related documents, until the
bids are opened; and sealed proposals and related documents
or any documents related to a negotiated contract until a
contract is executed, or all proposals are rejected, second by
Alderman Thatcher.
Yes: Homer, Thatcher, Super, Pruett, and Fuller.
Motion carried 5-0.
MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Thatcher moved at 4:22 p.m. to adjourn closed session
CLOSED @ 4:22 P.M. with no action taken, second by Alderman Homer.
Yes: Thatcher, Homer, Fuller, Super, and Pruett.
Motion carried 5-0.
REGULAR SESSION Mayor Rose called the Workshop Session to order at 4:27 p.m.

Kathy Rose, Alderman Art Homer, Ron Super, Chet Pruett, Aaron Thatcher, and Mike Fuller.
Alderman Brad Cope was absent.

Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, City Clerk Robin Littrell, Community
Development Director Mike Duffy, Public Works Director Tom Wooddell, Administration
Director Meredith Hauck, City Engineer Travis Hoover, Finance Director Donna Resz, Police
Major Chris Skinrood, and Fire Chief Gordon Fowlston.
BUDGET WORKSHOP City Administrator Greg Mills remarked that the Board had
questions regarding 50th Street work and City Engineer Travis
Hoover reviewed the history of this street work, had pictures to
show areas of concern, and responded to questions from the
Board.
Mayor Rose appreciates all that Finance Director Donna Resz
and staff has done on this year's budget. She wanted to make
certain the Board was aware of the breakdown of compensation
for the 26 employees specified in ranges A, C, & D. Mayor Rose
also addressed the interest for elected officials benefit coverage
and feels it should not be pursued at this time. Inland marine
insurance coverage was explained along with the water tower and
post office insurance. Mayor Rose would like to take a portion of
the contingency fund to purchase a new vehicle for the City Hall.
Each alderman was given the opportunity to ask budget
questions.
City Administrator Mills discussed the desire to donate a 2011
Crown Victoria police vehicle to the City of Orrick, Missouri.
MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Thatcher moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:00 p.m.,
second by Alderman Homer.
Yes: Thatcher, Homer, Fuller, Super, and Pruett.
Motions carried 5-0.
