AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF EDWARD JEFFERY AS A FULL-
TIME MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
ESTABLISHING A SALARY AND START DATE FOR SUCH EMPLOYEE
WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.070 provides for the appointment of employees of the
City by the City Administrator with approval of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.140 provides for the establishment of the salary of non-
elected employees of the City by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to approve the
appointment of Edward Jeffery as a Maintenance Worker 1 in the Department of Public Works as
provided herein;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 — HIRING OF EMPLOYEE. Edward Jeffery is hereby employed as a Full-Time
Maintenance Worker 1 in the Department of Public Works.
SECTION 2 — STARTING SALARY. The starting salary for this position shall be set at
$15.14 per hour and the employee shall be placed on a one-year work test period. The salary shall
thereafter be adjusted according to the annual budget and the personnel policies and procedures
of the City as may be adopted from time to time.
SECTION 3 - REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4—SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any
provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect
the validity of the remainder of this ordinance.
SECTION 5— EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of June
18", 2014.
BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, passed and
approved by a mpjority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside,
Missouri,this'17"' day of June, 2014.
