Home My WebLink AboutR-2014-079 Purchase Police In-Car Video System Components RESOLUTION NO. R-2014-079 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF POLICE IN-CAR VIDEO SYSTEM COMPONENTS. WHEREAS, the City of Riverside has deployed an in-car video system in its police cars, purchased from L3 Mobile-Vision, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City is in need of upgrading and replacing certain components of such system; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 135.070.B authorizes the City to extend a contract to a vendor for the purchase of goods or services without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures when, in the opinion of the Board of Aldermen, the contract would be in the best interest of the City; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 135.130.1 authorizes the City to purchases goods and materials without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures, when such purchases pertains to "[i]nterface upgrades, add-on parts and components to existing, City-owned equipment that requires total compatibility assurance; license renewals for City-owned software and repair and maintenance for City-owned equipment and software for which it is technologically and cost effective to procure from the original seller or manufacturer"; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen finds that Sections 135.070.13 and 135.130.1 are applicable under the circumstances, and that it is in the best interest of the City to purchase the needed components from L3 Mobile-Vision, Inc. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: THAT the Board of Aldermen approves Proposal No. 97943250, a copy of which is attached hereto, from L3 Mobile-Vision, Inc. and authorizes the purchase of the equipment described therein; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, the City Administrator, and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to cant' out and comply with the intent of this Resolution and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized. We at WatchGuard Video do manufacture and support the finest in car video solutions in Missouri and the U.S. Unfortunately we are not able to ingest L3 video at this time. Many other agencies will maintain two systems for a period of time in order to have going forward the finest video and audio, plus backend software,for their operations and department. If you determine this is not a viable solution to you I am sorry, but appreciate the email contact. Good morning, The City of Riverside Missouri Police Department is in the process of replacing its aged in- car video system and I am inquiring about the Watch Guard system. We currently are using L3 Communications which includes and interview room system. The interview room system needs to be maintained and compatible with whatever new system we purchase. We also have over 1500 evidence discs in our property room that would need to be able to be played on the new system as well. What I am trying not of do is have to maintain two different systems and have two separate expenses. Is it possible to integrate our current L3 videos and interview room with a Watch Guard system?
