HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-09-24 • ~ REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, - - SEPTEMBER 24, 1985 ~- A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, on September 24, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. At a roll call, Aldermen Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present, Gordy, absent and Mayor Holmes called said meeting to order. It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes of September 18, 1985, at the present time. Sealed proposals for the improvement to Woodland Road were received at the office of the City Clerk on September 24, 1985. Said proposals were publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall. Bids were read as follows: 1. Asphalt Plant Sales Section A $208,508.00 Section B 12,603.00 Total A & B $221,111.00 2. G.C. Construction Section A $288,074.80 Section B 15,215.40 Total A & B 303,290.20 3. Haines & Stowers Section A $219,269.00 Section B 16,417.00 Total A & B 235,686.00 4. Pool & Canfield Section A $218,335.42 Section B 18,207.55 Total A & B 236,542.97 5. R.A. Pohl Construction Section A _ $249,048.33 Section B 12,831.98 Total A & B 261,880.31 The City Engineer, Ken Vaughn, estimated costs for the above-mentioned project was $204,371.00. The Mayor and Board tabled the letting of the bid until they could have further discussion with Mr. Vaughn. City Engineer, Ken Vaughn, called the City Clerk's office and reported that the building permit issued to North River Partners had not been approved, and that building was underway. Mayor Holmes asked Mr. Witt, City Attorney, to dictate a letter to the City Clerk advising them that all work should cease L; on this building until all of .the plans were approved by Mr. Vaughn. ~V H ~,,, Sidewalk bids for the handicapped entrance to the City Hall are to be secured. Qualifications for the Director of Public Safety position and the Assistant to the Mayor were discussed. It was decided to have Mr. Witt draft a job description for said positions. A motion was made issuing a moratorium for sixty (60) days on new construction in the industrial district south of Highway 9 that would not include a brick facade on said building. The roll was called and Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Gordy absent.
