MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF
~~ BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
NOVEMBER 5, 1985
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri on November 5, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, Aldermen
Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present, Gordy absent;
and Mayor Holmes calling said meeting to order.
Rodney Ulmer and Jefferson Sasser were present and present-
ed Special Use Application for Playin$$,,~~Bi~ng,,oiat 124 N.W. Business
Park Lane in the name of Kansas City/'O~i~~rY~inity Industries Center
Housing Development Corporation, 1601 East 18th Street, K. C.,
MO 64108. Bingo is by Special Use as required by Ordinance. Best
moved that the Special Use Application be approved, seconded by
Wedua, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Best,
Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Gordy absent.
It was brought out that the City Engineer said that the
parking area would probably be adequate and that City Attorney
Don Witt said the Easement for the parking was in proper form.
The Business License Application for Kansas City, Missouri Opportun-
ity Industries Center Housing -Development Corporation was approved
~. subject to the payment of the fee.
Luella Catalano, 825 Euclid,- K. C., M0, Sub-Lessee's Appli-
cation for Business License was approved subject to the payment
of the.--fee. (,Binge).
Rodney Ulmer and Jefferson Sasser presented Business Li- _
cense for the consessions at the Bingo Games at 120 Business Park,
this is in th'e name of Doris Marina 5749 Woodland, Kansas City,
MO 64110. This license was approved subject to a certificate from
the Health Department and the payment of 'the fee.
City Clerk Betty Burch received two bids to install the
Christmas Ornaments on the Streets:
One for X1195 from Acme Sign-Hangers
One for $900 from Creative Displays, Inc.
Brenner moved that we accept the .lowest and best bid,
same being Creative Displays, Inc. for X900.00, seconded by Karr,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Best, Peeler,
Wedua and Brenner voted aye, Gordy absent..
Peeler moved that Bill No. 85-51 being bill designating -
the. Acting Chief Public Safety Officer as Zoning Enforcement, Of- <.."..
ficer be placed on -its first reading, seconded by Karr, -the roll,..
was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua ,
and Brenner voted aye; Gordy absent, said bill was accordingly
read.

Karr moved that Bill No. 85-51 be placed on its second
reading, seconded by Wedua, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Gordy
absent; said bill was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that Bill No. 85-51 be placed on its third
reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance N0. 85-51, se-
conded by Wedua, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Karr, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Gordy absent;
said bill was accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, approved by Mayor Holmes and became Ordinance No. 85-51.
It was agreed to have the City's Christmas party on Decem-
ber 15, 1985.
Gary Brenner is to look at Christmas Trees for the City
Hall and authorized to purchase same.
City Clerk Betty Burch reported on the Board of Zoning
Adjustm t meeting which was held on Monday, October 28, 1985.
Bill ~ruett for North Light Supply requested a 25 foot clearance
on the side of his building at N.W. Platte Road (East of Entrance
to Riverside Business Park) rather than a 30 foot clearance or
setback, and this was granted. Dan Peak requested a change in
the curbing for the proposed 680'00 sq. ft. building and his re-
~-- quest was granted. Specialized Auto Sales requested permission
for the continuation of leaving the banners up - this requested
was denied. Mr. McCall's request for the banners he has to close
off is drive when the station is closed, for security purpose,
was granted, however he is to take the ones down along the front
of the station area.
The minutes of October 19, 1985, were read and approved
as corrected.
Best inqured whether or not something could be done about
the house on NW Gateway (previously John Brenner'). This will
be looked into.
Peeler said he would like to have directions on Woodland
Street. The Mayor and Board agreed to accept the lowest and best
bid to repair said street.
Major Fletcher announced that Michael Moats has changed
his mind concering his. accepting the position as Dispatcher for
the City of Riverside.
The matter of the trucks being parked on Vivion Road was
brought up and discussed.
~ There being no further business to come before the Board,
upon motion made, seconded and duly passed, meeting adjourned at
10:07 p.m.
