HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-08-21 L MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI August 21, 1984 ~ ~~~,,~~ ,~ A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the 'City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, on August 21., 1984 at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, Aldermen Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner were present and Mayor Holmes calling said meeting to order. It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes, at the present time. Glen Pittman, 10014 N.W. Mirror Lake Drive, Parkville, MO 64152 presented Business License Application for Pat's Van Lines, Inc. at 214 N.W. Business Park Lane, for moving and stor- age of household goods. He thought he would have approximately five vehicles at the area. The application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. William Clark, 4308 W. Platte Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64150, presented an Application for Remodeling his residential buildiing on Florence Road, this would be to put a new roof on same. This was approved subject to the payment of the fee. William Clark also presented an Application for building a garage at 4308 W. Platte Road. This Application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Billy F. Farrell, Smithville, MO (P.O.Box 9254, Riverside, ~ Missouri) was present concerning his Business License Application for the sale of tires and service of giant tires for construction industries; the Mayor and Board said they had further investigated the area and with the understanding that he would keep the area in order, the application was approved subject to the payment of the fee. The minutes of July 17, 1984, were approved as read. The minutes of August 7, 1984, were approved as read. Karr moved that Bill No. 84-27 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, 'the~.roll,was-called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, :Feeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. -. Karr moved that Bill No. 84-27 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Wedua, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. i ~ ~ Reg. Meeting ~~-- Page 2 , August 21, 1984 Gordy moved that Bill N0. 84-27 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 84-27, seconded by Karr, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Bordy, Best, Peeler Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. The Public Safety Dept. is to check Nice Car for :its parking cars off of hard surface. Happy HOmes is also to be checked. Brenner moved that Bill N0. 84-26 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Karr, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; said bill was accordingly read. Karr moved that the City Clerk's Office have a Petty CAsh fund of $50.00, seconded by Best, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, Wedua and Brenner vote aye. City Clerk Betty Burch announced that Pride and Progress are going to set up the tables at the Park and welcomes all ~, help. The matter of watering the tubs of flowers through- out the City was discussed and it was thought that something could be worked out for next summer in this regard.
