HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-11-06i.'+ .- MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI NOVEMBER 6, 1984 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River- ~ side, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on No- ~~ vember 6, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call, Aldermen Karr, Gordy, Best, Peeler, and Brenner were present. In the absence of Mayor Holmes, the meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Peeler. Wedua is ab- sent this portion of meeting. The minutes of October 30, 1984, were read and approved as cor- rected. Wedua present this portion of meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rule, Route #9, Box 460, Liberty, MO presented Application for Liquor by Package License to be used at Flash Market, 4443 N.W. Gateway. Everything appearing to be in order, the License was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Jerry Ward 9400 N.W. Barry Road, Kansas City, MO present ed Oc~u- pation License for Ward Automotive at 2903 N.W. Platte Road (in the building where Carpenter Brothers were). He said he does mostly whole- sale of used vehicles. He does the work on the inside and he may have one or two vehicles on the outside. He would do no paint restoration or body work on the vehicles. Since this building was involved in a fire, it was decided to have City Engineer inspect the building and also Mr. Ward was advised that he needed a plot plan with the parking spaces marked thereon along with a change of use application. Mr. Ward was also advised that he should bring these applications to the Planning Commission on Thursday. '~ It was reported that Kelly's has a blinking light sign and also that Don's Northland Homes has four new trailers. It was suggested that Chief Wingo keep the Council apprised on Besette Auto Sales. Chief Wingo announced that Ann Lenning completed her fifth year anniversary on November 1, 1984 and is entitled to 1/2% of her base pay. Karr moved that Bill N0. 84-3~ being bill providing for Ann Lenn- ing's longivity pay be increased 1/2% of her base pay,as of November 1, 1984 be placed on its first reading, seconded by 'Gordy,, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, Wedua and Bren- ner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem. and said bill was accordingly read. Gores moved that Bill No. 84-3~ be placed on its second reading, seconded by Karr, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gnrtiy.., Best, Wedua and Brenner voted aye; Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem, and said bill was accordingly read. Wedua moved that Bill No. 84-37 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance N0. 84-3t"7, seconded by Bren- ner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Karr, Gordy, Best, +Tedua and Brenner voted aye;. Peeler being Mayor Pro Tem, said bill was `accordingly read, attached hereto and made a part hereof and became Ordinancae NO. 84-36. ., i Minutes of Reg. Meeting Page 2, Nov. 6, 1984 ,~ City Clerk Betty Burch said she had received an inquiry from Pride Makers Apparel asking for permission to have a temporary sign to adver- tise a sale for two days. It appeared that there was no ordinance to cover this type of sign. City Clerk Betty Burch announced that the KCP&L people were wiring the poles for our Christmas Lights. She inquired whether or not to have Acme install the brackets for the decorations, and the Board agreed to this, but does not want the decorations to be up until after Thanks- giving.
