R— 2015 — 058 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO 2015 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDANS FROM SHAWNEE MISSION FORD OFF THE MID AMERICA COUNCIL FOR PUBLIC PURCHASING CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,022.00 WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for acquisition of two vehicles to replace the older two Police vehicle used daily; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, Mid America Council for Public Purchasing (MACPP) has competitively bid and awarded a contract to Shawnee Mission Ford, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of two 2015 Ford Police Interceptor sedan vehicles from Shawnee Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $50,022.00; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT the purchase of two 2015 Ford Police Interceptor sedan vehicles, from Shawnee Mission Ford, in an amount not to exceed $50,022.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor and/or the City Administrator, or his designee, are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. Rose AT T: Robin Kincaid, City Clerk Riverside Department of Public Safety AGENDA DATE: August 18, 2015 BACKGROUND: The purchase of two 2015 Ford Police Interceptor sedans with equipment that was approved in the 2015-2016 budget. The vehicle will be purchased through Shawnee Mission Ford using the MARC contract. The emergency equipment will be purchased through Whelen Engineering based on the Missouri State Contract. BUDGETARY IMPACT: Total cost of this purchase is $56,034 (vehicle= $50,022 and equipment= $6,012).
