Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri

A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City
Hall, of Riverside, Missouri, on May 9, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.
Beard.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Jones, Looker, Darata, Legaard, Super, and
Also present were, David Blackburn, City Administrator, Brent Miles, Planning & Zoning,
Community Development Coordinator, Fred Russell, Codes, Chief Greg Mills, John Jackson, City Engineer,
John McClelland and Ben Prell, City Attorney's office.
Bill No. 2005-41 Alderman Legaard moved to place Bill No. 2005-41 on its first reading, said
Placing a temporary Bill placing a temporary moratorium on off-street pazking spaces under Chapter
moratorium on off- 605, sale of fireworks and fireworks and fireworks occupational license Section
street parking spaces 605.320-R off-street parking, seconded by Alderman Dazata, the vote was:
under Chapter 605.320R
Aye: Aldermen Super, Beard, Jones, Looker, Darata and Legaazd.
Motion carries.
Ordinance No. 2005-41 Alderman Beazd moved to place Bill No. 2005-41 on its second reading,
Approved and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 2005-41, seconded
by Alderman Legaard, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaazd, Jones, Super, Looker and Beard.
Motion carries.
City Engineer's John Jackson discussed with the board the curb and gutter repair project for
and Aldermen's city wide curb/gutter/sidewalk and asphalt paving. Miller Paving is requesting a
comments change order for asphalt paving.
Change Order #2 for Alderman Looker moved to approve Change Order #2 for Miller Paving &
Miller Paving in the Construction for 8" full depth asphalt paving in the amount of $25,042.50
amount of $25,042.50, for patching of pavement areas as designated and marked out by city staff, seconded
Approved by Alderman Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Super, Beazd, Jones, Legaazd, Dazata and Looker.
Motion carries.
Alderman Super's Alderman Super asked about saw cutting the patches on Northwood Road.
comment John Jackson said, "Yes" this would be done.
Motion for Closed Alderman Legaazd moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant to
Session at 6:16 p.m. RSMo 610.021(3) for discussion of Personnel matters, seconded by Alderman
Looker, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Beazd, Dazata, Jones, Super, Looker and Legaazd.
Motion carries.

Motion for Open Alderman Looker moved that the meeting go into open session at 6:45 p.m,
Session at 6:45 seconded by Alderman Dazata, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Jones, Looker, Dazata, Legaazd, Beazd and Super.
Motion Carries.
Nate Hanway, Intern Alderman Looker moved to approve hiring Nate Hanway as an intern
Approved for hire in the Planning, Zoning and Engineering Departments at $13.00 per
in the P&Z/Eng.,Codes, hour, seconded by Aldern~an Super, the vote was:

Aye: Aldermen Darata, Jones, Legaazd, Beazd, Super and Looker.

Alderman Legaazd Aldernvw Legaard left the meeting at 6:45 p.m
Motion for Closed Alderman Darata moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant to
Session at 6:46 p.m. RSMo 610.021(2) for discussion of Real Estate matters, seconded by Alderman
Looker, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Beazd, Darata, Jones, Super and Looker.
Absent: Alderman Legaazd.
Motion carries.
Motion for Open Alderman Looker moved that the meeting go into open session at 7:51 p.m,
Session at 7:51p.m. seconded by Alderman Super, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Jones, Super, Dazata, Looker and Beazd.
Absent: Alderman Legaazd.
Motion carries.
Proceed with amending Alderman Beard moved to approve John McClelland from the City Attorney's
the present TIF Office to proceed with amending the present TIF plan, seconded by Alderman
plan, Approved Looker, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Jones, Super, Dazata, Looker and Beazd.
Absent: Alderman Legaazd.
Motion carries.
