HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-05-31 SpecialMinutes of Special Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri May 31, 2005 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall, of Riverside, Missouri, on May 31, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Jones, Looker, Darata, Legaard, Super, and Beard. Also present were, David Blackburn, City Administrator, Brent Miles, Planning & Zoning, Community Development Coordinator, Chief Greg Mills, and John McClelland, City Attorney's office. Motion for Closed Alderman Beazd moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant to Session at 7:05 p.m and 610.021(3) Personnel Issues, seconded by Alderman Looker, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Beard, Dazata, Jones, Super, Looker and Legaazd. Motion Carries. Motion for Open Alderman Dazata moved that the meeting go into open session at Session at 7:14 p.m seconded by Alderman Legaard, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Super, Jones, Beazd, Looker, Legaazd and Darata. Motion Carries. Resignation Announced Chief Mills announced the resignation of Dawn Gish with Public Safety to be effective May 20, 2005. Dawn is going to the Police Academy and to work for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. Budget Discussion Budget discussion was held pertaining to the 2005-2006 budget. Motion for Closed Alderman Legaazd moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant to Session at 7:20 p.m and 610.021(2) Real Estate, seconded by Alderman Jones, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Beazd, Super, Looker, Dazata, Jones and Legaazd. Motion Carries. Motion for Open Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session at 9:10 p.m., Session at 9:10 p.m. seconded by Alderman Looker, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Looker, Darata, Legaard, Beard, Jones and Super. Motion Carries. Budget Discussion Budget discussion was held pertaining to the 2005-2006 budget. Alderman Super asked when Southwestern Bell was returning to a boazd meeting. It was mentioned the representative would return to the June 7's meeting. Motion for Closed Alderman Jones moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant to Session at 9:25 p.m and 610.021(1) Legal Issues with the city attorney, seconded by Alderman Beazd, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Beazd, Super, Looker, Darata, Jones and Legaard. Motion Carries. Motion for Open Alderman Beazd moved that the meeting go into open session at 9:27 p.m, Session at 9:27 p.m seconded by Alderman Looker, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Looker, Darata, Legaard, Beard, Jones and Super. Motion Carries. Adjournment By unanimous decision, the meeting adjourned at 9:27 p.m ~~~~~ Mayor
