HomeMy WebLinkAbout1483 New Hire Full Time Police Officer Philip K. Moss BILL NO. 2016-042 ORDINANCE NO. /4183 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF PHILIP K. MOSS AS A FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY AND START DATE FOR SUCH EMPLOYEE WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.070 provides for the appointment of employees of the City by the City Administrator with approval of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.140 provides for the establishment of the salary of no - elected employees of the City by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to approve the appointment of Philip K. Moss as a Police Officer in the Department of Public Safety as provided herein; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — HIRING OF EMPLOYEE. Philip K. Moss is hereby employed as a Full-Tirr e Police Officer in the Department of Public Safety. SECTION 2 — STARTING SALARY. The starting salary for this position shall be set at $16.29 per hour. The salary shall thereafter be adjusted according to the annual budget and tf e personnel policies and procedures of the City as may be adopted from time to time. SECTION 3 - REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances or parts f ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 4—SEVERABILITY QLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, such determination shall nota fect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 5— EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of September 7, 2016.
