HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-05-30 Special Meeting MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF ALDERMEN RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI Monday, May 30, 2017 5:30 p.m. The Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, met in special session in the Board of Aldermen Chambers at City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Mayor Rose called the special meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy Rose, Aldermen Ron Super, Art Homer, Sal LoPorto, Aaron Thatcher, Chet Pruett, and Al Bowman. Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, City Clerk Robin Kincaid, Community Development Director Mike Duffy, and Finance Director Donna Oliver. Also present was City Attorney Paul Campo. MOTION TO ENTER INTO Alderman Homer moved that the meeting go into closed CLOSED @ 5:31 P.M. session pursuant to RSMo 610.021 (1) Legal Action and litigation, and RSMo 610.021 (2) Leasing, purchase or sale of real estate by a public governmental body where public knowledge of the transaction might adversely affect the legal consideration therefore, second by Alderman Bowman. Yes: Homer, Bowman, LoPorto, Super, Pruett, and Thatcher. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Thatcher moved at 6:03 p.m. to adjourn closed CLOSED @ 6:03 P.M. session with action taken, second by Alderman Super. Yes: Thatcher, Super, Pruett, LoPorto, Homer, and Bowman. Motion carried 6-0. Mayor Rose called the special open session to order at 6:04 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Kathy Rose, Aldermen Ron Super, Art Homer, Sal LoPorto, Aaron Thatcher, Chet Pruett, and Al Bowman. Also present were City Administrator Greg Mills, Community Development Director Mike Duffy, Finance Director Donna Oliver, City Clerk Robin Kincaid, Public Works Director Tom Wooddell, Fire Chief Gordon Fowlston, Police Chief Chris Skinrood, City Engineer Travis Hoover, Recreation Supervisor Lori Boji, and Eddie Seasholtz, Computer Technician. RESOLUTION 2017-030 Alderman Thatcher moved to approve Resolution 2017-030 Support of New Bridge stating the City of Riverside's support for a new US 169 Buck O'Neil Bridge and directing the City Clerk to transmit a copy of this Resolution to certain individuals, second by Alderman Bowman. Yes: Thatcher, Bowman, Pruett, LoPorto, Homer, and Super. Motion carried 6-0. 1 2017-2018 Budget Discussion City Administrator Greg Mills and Finance Director Donna Oliver reviewed a PowerPoint presentation showing revenues, department equipment needs, benefit increases and other necessary changes to the budget. Questions were asked by the Mayor and Board. City Administrator Mills asked that the Board get concerns to him by Friday of this week and that the resolution for adoption will be presented at the June 6t' meeting. MOTION TO ADJOURN Alderman Bowman moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:21 p.m., second by Alderman Thatcher. Yes: Bowman, Thatcher, Pruett, Homer, LoPorto, and Super. Motions carried 6-0.
