R-2017-060 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FROM TYLER TECHNOLOGIES TO PURCHASE THE BRAZZOS E-TICKETING SOFTWARE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $31,887.00 WHEREAS,the City also requested a proposal from Tyler Technologies for Brazzos E- Ticketing program software for the police department; and WHEREAS,the proposal for the software system proposed by Tyler Technologies is $31,887.00 for the Brazzos E-Ticketing to give officers the capabilities to write electronic summonses, being more efficient, accurate, and timely. This program has been evaluated and is recommended as an advantageous proposal for use by the City; and WHEREAS,the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to purchase such software for the Police Department; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT the proposal of Tyler Technologies for the Brazzos E-Ticketing Software in the amount of$31,887.00 is hereby accepted and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor and/or City Administrator is hereby authorized to execute all documents and agreements necessary or incidental to carry out the terms and conditions of such award and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. The program is for Brazzos E-ticketing, which is a product of Tyler Technologies. Tyler is also the vendor for the police, court, and city finance software programs. This gives the officer the capability to write electronic summonses versus handwriting them. It will allow officers to be more efficient and accurate in the field, specifically spending less time roadside where they are exposed to traffic. In addition, it creates a smooth transfer from police records to court records eliminating the need for someone to enter tickets two different times. It also provides for more accurate information. The cost for this program was approved in the 2017-2018 fiscal budget. BUDGETARY IMPACT: $31,887
