A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, APPROVING AND RATIFYING CHANGE ORDER 1 TO
THE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN METRO ASPHALT, INC. FOR 2017 STREET
MAINTENANCE PROJECT (316-016) RESULTING IN A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF
$555,480.00 FOR SUCH PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City issued an Invitation to Bid for the 2017 Street Maintenance Project
which was awarded to Metro Asphalt, Inc. pursuant to Resolution R-2017-011; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it in the best interest of the City to formally
authorize, approve and ratify Change Order 1 to the agreement with Metro Asphalt, Inc.,
resulting in a total revised contract amount not to exceed $555,480.00;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT Change Order 1 to the Agreement entered into by and between the City and
Metro Asphalt, Inc. and incorporated herein by reference resulting in a revised contract amount
not to exceed $555,480.00 is hereby authorized, ratified and approved.
FURTHER THAT the Mayor, City Administrator and all other required city officials are
authorized to execute the change order authorized herein together with any and all documents
necessary or incidental to the performance thereof and to take such other actions and/or
execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and
other documents as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the
intent of this Resolution.
BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of
the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this
19th day of September 2017.

2017 Street Maintenance Project (316-016)
BACKGROUND: The 2017 Street Maintenance Project was approved on 3-7-17 and consists of
• A section of Line Creek Trail replacement
• Curb and gutter replacement
• Sidewalk replacement
ADA ramp replacement
• Approach replacement
• Curb inlet adjustment
The project was bid in early 2017 and used funds in the 2016-2017 budget for
concrete work throughout the City. The contract also specked the option to leave the
contract open for future repairs. An additional $100,000 added to this contract can be
used for future repairs and is currently accounted for in the 2017-2018 budget
BUDGETARY IMPACT: Approximately $100,000.00 will be expended out of the 2017-18 Street
Maintenance budget.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and acceptance of the change order
with Metro Asphalt to continue with work for the 2017 Street Maintenance
