AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 140.300 RELATED TO THE
TOURISM COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Senate Bill 283, effective August 28, 2017, the enabling
statute for the City's Tourism Commission was amended to provide that City appointees to
the Tourism Commission may be residents of the county in which the city is located, or
City residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN FOR THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, as follows:
SECTION 1 —ADOPTION OF AMENDMENT. Section 140.300 of the City Code of the City
of Riverside, Missouri is hereby amended to read as follows (text to be added is underlined;
text to be deleted contains a stAkethmugh :
Section 140.300 Whom To Be Members.
A. Pursuant to Section 67.1364, RSMo., as amended, the Tourism Commission shall
consist of five (5) members appointed by the Board of Aldermen of the City of which
one (1) shall be a representative of the hotel/motel industry, two (2) shall be active in
the tourism industry and two (2) shall be representatives of local general business
interests. All members shall be residents of the City or Platte Countv.
B. Further, one (1) member shall be appointed as the City's Governing Body liaison to
the Tourism Commission, who shall serve in a non-voting capacity.
SECTION 2 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and approval.
BE IT REMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND
APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of
