A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2018 MATERIAL SPREADER AND
PRE-WET KIT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OFF THE MID AMERICA REGIONAL
COUNCIL GOVERNMENT FLEET EQUIPMENT PURCHASE AGREEMENT THROUGH THE
AMERICAN EQUIPMENT COMPANY KANSAS CITY KANSAS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED$10,000.00
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a need for the acquisition of a 2018 material
spreader and pre-wet kit; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the
practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities
through the cooperative bidding process; and
WHEREAS, the Mid America Regional Council (MARC) has competitively bid and awarded
a contract to American Equipment Company, Kansas City, Kansas, for the purchase of such
equipment; and
WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget;
and
WHEREAS,the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of a 2018 material spreader and pre-wet kit off the
MARC Government Fleet Equipment Purchase Agreement through American Equipment Co,
Kansas City, Kansas, in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE-BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
THAT, the purchase of a 2018 material spreader and pre-wet kit off the MARC Government
Fleet Equipment Purchase Agreement, through American Equipment Co, Kansas City, Kansas, in
an amount not to exceed $10,000.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and
FURTHER THAT the Mayor, or her designee, is hereby authorized to execute all documents
necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of
the City of Riverside, Missouri, the day of July 2018.

RE: Purchase approval of 2018 Salt Spreader
BACKGROUND: Funding to purchase new Monroe 10 ft. material spreader with pre-wet kit to was
included in the 2018-2019 budget. The equipment will be purchased from American Equipment Co.
which is a MARC fleet equipment bid dealer for government fleets.
BUDGETARY IMPACT: The adopted 2018-2019 fiscal budget included $10,000.00 for the purchase
price of the spreader and pre-wet kit.
