HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2018-053 Purchase Three Mobile Radios for Police Department Vehicles Resolution No. R—2018-053 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THREE MOBILE RADIOS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES OFF THE NEBRASKA STATE CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $12,000.00 WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for mobile radios in the three (3) new police vehicles to replace the outdated radios, this was approved in the 2018-2019 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, the Nebraska State Contract has competitively bid and awarded a contract for radios meeting the Phase 2 P25 radio mandates with Motorola Solutions, through Commenco, Inc.; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of three(3) mobile radios for the three new Police Department vehicles, to replace outdated radios, off the Nebraska Government Contract in an amount not to exceed $12,000.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the purchase of three (3) mobile radios for the three new police vehicles to replace outdated radios off the Nebraska State Contract in an amount not to exceed $12,000.00 is hereby authorized, approved and ratified; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor and/or the City Administrator, or his designee, are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. Riverside Police Department Resolution Overview OFFICER AGENDA DATE: July 3, 2018 BACKGROUND: This request is for the purchase of three (3) mobile radios for the three requested police vehicles. These radios are replacing outdated equipment and are part of the government required future Phase 2 P25 radio mandates. The radios are being purchased through Commenco, Inc. as part of the Nebraska state contract with Motorola Solutions. These radios were approved as part of the 2018-2019 budget. BUDGETARY IMPACT: $12,000
