AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A 2019 SIDE LETTER AGREEMENT WITH IAFF
LOCAL 42.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI„as follows:
Section 1. That the 2019 Side Letter Agreement by and between the City of Riverside and
the IAFF Local 42, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is approved, and the
Mayor is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the City.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
adoption, and approval by the Mayor.
BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND
APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the

BETWEEN
CITY OF RIVERSIDE,MISSOURI
AND
LOCAL 42
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS
2019 Side Letter Agreement
Greater Kansas City Fire Fighters, Local No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters,
AFL-CIO-CLC, herein called the "Union," and the City of Riverside, Missouri, herein called the
"City," hereby agree to amend the August 1, 2017 through February 1, 2020 labor agreement
between them as follows:
Add the following language to Article 11, Section LB: Effective July 1, 2019, all employees
in the bargaining unit who have received an annual performance rating higher than "needs
improvement" shall receive a 3%pay increase.
Add a new Section 3 to Article 11,titled"Longevity Pay." The section shall read as follows:
On the pay date first occurring after November 15, each eligible employee shall receive a lump
sum longevity payment. Regular wage withholding shall apply.
Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for longevity pay after completing three full years
of service.
The payment formula for full-time employees shall be [full years of service] x [the then-current
longevity incentive amount]. Full years of service shall be determined as of November 1, as
shall employee status (i.e. either full-time or part-time). One year of credit shall be given for
each full year of part-time or full-time service. There shall be no credit given for partial years of
service. The longevity incentive amount for 2019 shall be $65.00. Thus, for example, a full-
time employee hired as a part-time employee on January 1, 2010, who became a full-time
employee on January 1, 2013, would have nine full years of service as of November 1, 2019, and
would receive a payment of$585.00.
Part-time employees shall be eligible on the same basis as full-time employees, but their payout
amounts shall be one-half the amount that would be paid to a full-time'employee with the same
years of service. In the example listed above, if the employee had never converted to full-time
status,his or her 2019 longevity payment would be $292.50.
Add new Section 7 to Article 6, titled "Premium Pay for Part-Time Employees". This section
shall read as follows:
Part-time employees shall not be entitled to premium pay under this Agreement, except that
when part-time employees respond to a call-out, they shall be paid time-and-one-half for all
hours actually worked.
