R-2019-105 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OFA 2018 DODGE RAM 5500 CHASSIS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THROUGH CHASTANG DODGE OFF THE FIAT CHRYSLER GOVERNMENT FLEET BID FOR COOPERATIVE FLEET PRICING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $38,911.00 WHEREAS, the Fire Department has a need for the acquisition of a 2018 Dodge Ram 5500 chassis to replace the R-1 pumper vehicle; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, Chastang Dodge, Angleton, Texas has competitively bid and was awarded a contract for government fleet pricing, through the government program for the purchase of such equipment; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of a 2018 Dodge Ram 5500 Chassis from Chastang CDJR, Angleton, Texas off the Fiat Chrysler Government Fleet contract for equipment pricing in an amount not to exceed $38,911.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the purchase of a 2018 Dodge Ram 5500 Chassis from off the Government Equipment Bid List from Chastang Dodge, Angleton, Texas in an amount not to exceed $38,911.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, or her designee, is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. Octoberlst, 2019 BACKGROUND: In the 2018 /19 budget for the Fire Department the Board of Alderman approved the replacement'R-1,this is our smaller mini pumper. As part of this process we need to purchase a chassis to place the new body and pump onto. Through an extensive process we found a new never used 2018 Dodge Ram 5500 chassis at Chastang Dodge in the Houston TX area off the Fiat Chrysler Government Fleet program. Purchasing his Chassis saves us a minimum of$13,000 over a similar 2020 model year. BUDGETARY IMPACT: The cost of this purchase is $38,911.00.
