HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-07-13 SpecialL J Minutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri July 13,2004 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hall, of Riverside, Missouri, July 13, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Looker, Legaard, Super, Darata, Burris and Beard. Also present, David Blackburn, City Administrator. Temporary catering Alderman Darata moved to approve a temporary catering license for License for "KC Fondue" "KC Fondue, L.L.C." to sell liquor by the drink at the E.H. Young sell liquor by the drink Riverfront Pazk July 15,16 from 5-10 p.m. and July 17,18, noon to 10 at the EH Young Riverfront p.m., subject to all sellers to qualify for a liquor card from Public Park, Approved, with conditions Safety, seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Looker, Legaazd, Super, Beard, Burris, and Darata. Motion carries. Motion for Closed Alderman Dazata moved that the meeting go into closed session, Session at 7:18 p.m. pursuant to RSMo 610.021(1) for discussion of Legal Issues, 'seconded by Alderman Looker, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Looker, Super, Beard, Bums, Darata and Legaard. Motion Carries. Motion for Open Alderman Legaazd moved that the meeting go into open session, Session 7:55 p.m. seconded by Alderman Looker, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Super, Beazd, Burris, Legaazd, Darata and Looker. Motion carries. Discussion regarding the A short discussion was held regarding the present contractor fmishing W.Platte Bridge the stop log structure and bridge piers for the W. Platte Bridge. By unanimous decision, the board does not wish to continue with the project. Mayor Burch does not agree with the decision of the boazd because of the amount of money the city has already spent with the contractor. Bill No. 2004-62 Bill No. 2004-62 tabled from the June 23~ meeting approving the costs Died for lack of a motion of the Stop Log Structure and Bridge Piers, authorizing and directing the payment thereof, and approving other documents and actions relating, thereto died for lack of a motion. Bill No. 2004-69 Alderman Looker moved to place Bill No. 2004-69 on its fast reading, Approv. termination of the said Bill approving the termination of the Stop Log Structure Stop Log Structure Agree- Agreement between the City and the Levee District, requesting the Ment between the City and the -Levee District to terminate the memorandum of agreement relating to Levee District....... the Stop Log Structure with the Corps, and authorizing the Mayor to Execute a Mutual termination Agreement between the City and the Levee District and actions relating thereto, seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was: Minn. 7/13/04 1 L --. Aye: Aldermen Super, Beard, Legaazd, Darata, Burris and Looker. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2004-69 Alderman Bums moved to place Bill No. 2004-69 on its second Approved reading, and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 2004-69, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaazd, Looker, Super, Beazd and Bums. Motion carries. Bill No. 2004-70 Alderman Beazd moved to place Bill No. 2004-70 on its fast reading, An Ord. terminating the Agree- said Bill terminating the agreement for Professional Services with ment for Professional Services Affmis Corporation dated February 24, 2004 pursuant to Part F, with Affmis Corporation..... paragraph 3 for the convenience of the City, seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Looker, Legaard, Super, Burris and Beazd. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2004-70 Alderman Looker moved to place Bill No. 2004-70 on its second Approved reading, and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 2004-70, seconded by Alderman Legaazd, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Burris, Looker, Darata, Legaazd, Super and Beard.
